A major Japanese manufacturing company is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to support the development and expansion of a centralized production data platform.
The position focuses on integrating manufacturing, equipment, process, and quality data from multiple systems into a secure, scalable environment that supports business intelligence, advanced analytics, and future AI applications.
You will be involved in database design, data integration, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) development, system implementation, and ongoing operations, working with manufacturing teams and IT specialists to improve data accessibility, quality, and reliability.

- ・Design, develop, and maintain databases, data lakes, and data warehouses for manufacturing and quality information.
・Collect, transform, and integrate data from production systems, manufacturing equipment, MES, file storage, and other internal platforms.
・Develop ETL pipelines, batch processes, and system integrations using SQL, Python, APIs, and related technologies.
・Improve data models, data quality, traceability, system performance, and standardization across manufacturing sites.
・Establish secure and reliable data environments for business intelligence, analytics, and future AI and machine learning applications.
・Support system deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, backups, and ongoing operational improvements.
・Collaborate with manufacturing departments, IT infrastructure and security teams, and external vendors to define requirements and deliver projects.
・Participate in team-based software development using Git, code reviews, CI/CD, and agile development practices.
・Depending on experience, support project coordination, technical standardization, and mentoring of team members.

- 応募資格（必須）
- ・Ability to gather stakeholder needs and translate them into clear system requirements and specifications.
・Experience developing systems or software as part of a team.
・Practical SQL skills for data extraction and transformation, together with fundamental relational database knowledge.
・Experience in at least one of the following: Database requirements definition, design, implementation, or performance optimization.
・Database or data platform operations, maintenance, monitoring, or troubleshooting.
・ETL, batch processing, API integration, or file-based data integration using Python or similar technologies.
・Native-level Japanese communication skills.
