The IT System Engineer is responsible for end‑to‑end ownership of local and regional business applications, IT operations, and dealer/partner connectivity, ensuring secure, reliable and compliant technology services for Vehicle Sales and Parts & Accessories operations. This role serves as the primary in‑country IT point of contact for the Japan entity, providing Japanese‑language support to internal users, dealers and distributors, and acting as the technical liaison between global, regional and local third‑party systems.
The position will lead the sustainment and enhancement of Japan and region specific applications (e.g., CRM/DMS, Digital showroom, WMS, Recall/recycle systems, SAP) in partnership with regional IT team, global product, cybersecurity, infrastructure and business teams.

- This position is a fully qualified, independent individual contributor who combines business analysis, system architecture and hands-on operations responsibilities across a broad portfolio of applications and infrastructure services.
The role will:
• Act as Business Analyst/System Architect for local and regional business systems (CRM/DMS, digital platforms, warehouse management, ERP systems and other enterprise applications), ensuring robust integration with global and regional platforms and third-party providers.
• Provide onsite first-tier IT support for PCs, networks, servers, phones, video conferencing and core IT tools, ensuring a reliable day-to-day technology experience for users.
• Lead or support key transformation initiatives such as ERP, CRM and cloud-based system deployments, ensuring business requirements, interfaces and data are properly addressed.
What You’ll Do
1. IT Portfolio and Application Leadership (25%)
• Own the sustainment and operational control of local and regional business applications, maintaining an accurate inventory of applications and their technical landscape.
• Coordinate application sustainment activities with IT portfolio teams including platform renewals, middleware upgrades and lifecycle management.
• Manage IT procurement processes and vendor interactions for assigned services, including resource planning and spending approvals in partnership with Finance and Purchasing teams.
• Support vendor security and application security communications, including security advisories, regulatory requirements and vulnerability monitoring activities.
• Provide application operation support, including external service interfaces, system integration analysis and backend application improvements.
• Support business users and other IT teams through needs analysis, issue coordination and IT security awareness activities.
• Support IT budget and spending control, including planning for technology investments, fixed assets, telecommunications and operational supplies.
2. Business Application Enablement and Continuity (25%
• Provide business process and technology advice for sales, logistics, customer experience and operational functions, working closely with business stakeholders.
• Support business operations involving ERP, warehouse management systems and other enterprise platforms.
• Act as a technology advisor to users, evaluating new tools and supporting system adoption and training activities.
• Coordinate application and network testing activities, scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting with infrastructure and service teams.
• Support business recovery during and after IT disruptions, including system recovery, application restoration and infrastructure troubleshooting.
3. IT Operations and Workplace Services (25%
• Plan and execute user communications for system deployments, technology changes, maintenance activities and new digital tools.
• Coordinate incident response and recovery activities for critical IT services.
• Provide first-tier IT support covering:
* User access management and system administration
* Application support and troubleshooting
* Business partner and vendor support
* General end-user technology support
• Manage IT hardware assets and lifecycle processes, including procurement, configuration, deployment, recovery, decommissioning and recycling.
• Coordinate with remote engineers and global IT support teams, acting as the local liaison between users and technical teams.
• Oversee vendor-operated application infrastructure, ensuring service levels and change controls are maintained.
• Support meeting room technology, workplace systems and remote facility connectivity.
4. Security, Compliance and Governance (15%)
• Support IT security control activities, including monitoring, mitigation actions, application governance and vulnerability management.
• Maintain accurate IT asset information for audits and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate with business stakeholders, Legal and Data Privacy teams to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
• Support supplier governance activities, including security, quality and change management processes.
5. External Partner Coordination (5%)
• Act as the primary IT interface with external partners and service providers, coordinating:
* System changes and updates
* Data exchange processes
* Issue resolution and operational support
• Support connectivity management, application access and integration activities together with internal and external technical teams.
6. Stakeholder Engagement and Leadership Support (5%)
• Serve as the primary IT point of contact, supporting employees, contractors, business partners and external stakeholders for key business systems.
• Partner with business leadership and regional IT teams on technology decisions and operational improvements.
• Support business transformation projects, acting as the local IT owner and liaison between business teams and global technology functions.

- 応募資格(必須)
- • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated experience (typically 5–8+ years) in IT systems engineering, business application ownership or IT operations supporting enterprise environments.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise applications and data flows such as SAP (e.g., SD/MM/FI/CO, logistics planning), CRM, WMS and integration with external partners or third‑party systems.
• Practical knowledge of networked workplace services (PCs, telephony, Wi‑Fi, conferencing systems) and first‑tier support processes for end users, dealers and distributors.
• Experience working with external vendors and service providers in Japan, including contract/scope management, operational coordination and security/compliance follow‑up.
• Strong understanding of IT security and compliance fundamentals (vulnerability management, data privacy, access management, fixed asset and audit controls).
• Native or near‑native proficiency in Japanese and strong business‑level English, with the ability to communicate effectively with local stakeholders and global teams.
• Proven ability to work independently as a fully qualified individual contributor, making sound decisions on complex, cross‑functional initiatives and acting as a resource for colleagues.

• Prior experience working in automotive, manufacturing, logistics or similar complex, regulated industries.
• Familiarity with ITIL‑aligned service management practices and tools for incident, change and problem management. (Service Now, Jira)
• Experience with cloud‑based ERP/CRM transformations (e.g., SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Salesforce) and integrating legacy systems during transition.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to decompose complex, ambiguous business problems into actionable technical initiatives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts into clear language for business leaders, external partners and global IT teams.
