宇宙機の主要メカニズム領域(キャプチャ機構、太陽電池アレイ、駆動系)を担うチームを統括し、技術・人材・予算の観点から開発をリードいただくポジションです。複数プロジェクトにおけるリソース配分、採用・育成、技術ロードマップ策定を通じて、QCDを満たすエンジニアリング体制を構築いただきます。事業計画や開発戦略と連動し、社内外ステークホルダーと連携しながら、Astroscaleの中核技術と開発力を強化する役割です。
This position leads the development of key spacecraft mechanism areas—including capture mechanisms, solar array systems, and actuation systems—overseeing technology, people, and budget.
You will build an engineering organization that meets QCD targets through resource allocation across multiple projects, hiring and talent development, and technical roadmap planning.
Working closely with internal and external stakeholders in alignment with business plans and development strategies, this role strengthens Astroscale’s core technologies and overall engineering capability.

・キャプチャ機構、太陽電池アレイ、駆動システムを担当するメカニズムチームが作成するすべての成果物(3Dモデル、2D図面、製造手順、CAEモデル、試験セットアップ・手順、試験結果、軌道上手順、運用、顧客を含むステークホルダーへの報告書)の管理。チームの技術領域と業務範囲を定義・維持。
・チームのタスクと優先順位を管理・指示。技術的リーダーシップの発揮。
・タスク管理、開発計画の管理、必要に応じてロードマップの修正提案。
・適切な品質・コスト・スピードを達成するための開発手法を検討・確立。
・プロジェクトおよび品質保証部門と協議の上で合意されたQCDに沿って開発を主導。適切なピアレビューの実施、標準的なエンジニアリングプロセスの保証。
・ハードウェア/ソフトウェアツールの共有、手順の再利用、技術情報交換の促進、チーム内の円滑なコミュニケーションを通じて、プロジェクト間の効率を確立。
・コア技術の確保とリソース管理、外注の場合は調達部門と協力して適切な企業/組織の選定。
■プロジェクトおよびエンジニアリング活動の運営
・チーム内のすべての業務、成果物、技術分析、エンジニアリング支援の実行。
・ディレクターから特別な任命を受けた場合、事業開発や新規提案の支援。
・事業開発機能に対して、技術的なインプットやフィードバック、プログラム的・リソース計画情報の提供。
■Engineering Resource and Budget Management
・Accurately understand the job description and strength of the Mechanism team(*) members. Allocate appropriate personnel and man-hours to multiple projects. Maintain this activity.
・Clarify the requirements for new team members needed to fill the hiring slots allocated by the Division and support the recruitment process. Review the current workload status and propose revisions to the hiring plan within the group as needed. Work closely with the Vice President of Engineering, the Group Director and Human Resources (HR).
・Establish work goals for each team member and evaluate their achievement. Develop and implement a plan to train and motivate members.
・Plan and propose the budget required for the project's area of responsibility and the team's development activities based on business plan and development roadmap. Execute and manage the allocated budget.
■Technical and Engineering Management
・Responsible to all deliverables created by Mechanism team that in charge of Capture mechanism, solar array and drive system, including 3D model, 2D drawing, production procedures, CAE models, testing set-up and procedures, test results, in-orbit procedure, operation itself and any related reports to be submitted to stakeholders including customer.
・Define and maintain the technical areas and scope of work of the team, taking into account the dynamic changes of the environment, both internal and external under director’s strategic principle. Collaborate with projects and other functional parties in this regard.
・Manage and direct the team tasks and priorities. Resolve any technical and resource conflicts within the team. Provide technical leadership within the team.
・Based on the technical roadmap, identify tasks each team should focus on, and translate them into specific development plans. Consider the latest development statuses within the team and propose amendments to the roadmap as necessary.
・Explore and establish development methods to achieve appropriate quality, cost and speed. Lead the development in line with the QCD agreed in consultation with the Projects and the Quality Assurance department. Ensure appropriate peer reviews are conducted, and standard engineering processes are being followed.
・Establish the unit efficiencies between projects within the team by sharing hardware/software tools, reusing procedures, fostering exchange of technical information, and ensuring good communications within the team.
・In the planning process for the group resource management, provide judgement of in-house or outsource development for the responsible work in the team, both in terms of securing core technology and resource management. For outsourcing, work with the Procurement function to select appropriate companies / organizations.
■Projects and Engineering activities operation
・Responsible for actual execution of all work, delivery, technical analysis, and engineering support of all tasks within the team.
・In case of specific appointments from the director, Support Business Development and new proposals. Provide both technical input and feedback along with programmatic and resource planning information as needed for the Business Development function.

- ・宇宙機、航空宇宙機器、精密機械、または類似分野におけるメカニズム開発の実務経験
・キャプチャ機構、展開機構、太陽電池アレイ、駆動系などの機械系サブシステムに関する知識・経験
・複数プロジェクトにまたがるエンジニアリングチームのマネジメント経験
・リソース配分、工数管理、予算管理の実務経験
・3D CAD、2D図面、製造・試験プロセスを含むエンジニアリング成果物のレビューおよび承認経験
・QCD(Quality, Cost, Delivery)を意識した開発推進経験
・社内外ステークホルダーと円滑に連携できるコミュニケーション能力
・Hands-on experience in mechanism development in spacecraft, aerospace systems, precision machinery, or related fields
・Knowledge and experience with mechanical subsystems such as capture mechanisms, deployment mechanisms, solar array systems, and actuation systems
・Experience managing engineering teams across multiple projects
・Practical experience in resource allocation, workload planning, and budget management
・Experience reviewing and approving engineering deliverables, including 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and manufacturing and testing processes
・Proven experience driving development with a strong focus on QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery)
・Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

・Business-level proficiency in English
・Experience leading spacecraft development projects involving flight hardware or equivalent systems
・Experience contributing to technical roadmap development and mid- to long-term engineering strategies
・Knowledge of CAE and engineering analysis, including structural, thermal, and dynamic analysis
