This is a general manager position for an R&D organization responsible for automated driving technology.
This position is responsible for managing an organization of approximately 90 engineers based in Tokyo and Ibaraki, and leading technical collaboration with customers and the global headquarters. This is an extremely important and discretionary management position that will drive the execution of strategy in the Japanese market.

You will be responsible for overseeing a diverse R&D organization of approximately 90 engineers across two sites (Tokyo and Ibaragi). As the local leader, you will drive engineering execution, talent development, and strategic alignment with OEM customers and Valeo's global headquarters.
This is a high-impact leadership role with broad scope, strong autonomy, and direct influence on the future of ADAS and autonomous driving solutions in Japan. Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    Manage all R&D activities within the Driving Automation Division in Japan (approx. 90 engineers)
    -Contribute to the planning and promotion of technology development
    -Technical point of contact with OEMs in Japan
    -Manage R&D technical activities across product lines
    -Create a structure where the latest technical resources and skills are available within the team
    -Manage and optimize development budget

    Manage all R&D activities within the Driving Automation Division in Japan (approx. 90 engineers)

  • Requirements
    Over 7 years of experience in R&D management within the engineering field.
    ・Proven experience in managing multiple product lines and development teams.
    ・Language skills (business-level Japanese and English).
    ・Practical experience in negotiations with OEM customers and as a technical contact.
