The organization is seeking a Manager / Senior Manager of Cell Product Development to oversee the design and advancement of next- generation battery cells. This individual will guide multiple engineering teams responsible for cell architecture, materials selection, validation , and preparation for mass production. The role requires deep expertise in lithium-ion and silicon-based cell development, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to develop and implement next-generation battery cells. Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    Leads teams responsible for designing and delivering advanced battery cell products.

    Oversees full lifecycle product development, including concept design, detailed engineering, and validation phases (CV, DV, PV).

    Defines cell bill of materials, product drawings, specifications, and performance requirements.

    Ensures that all cell products meet technical, safety, cost, and manufacturability targets.

    Quality, Process, & Technical Governance

    Manages APQP or equivalent product-development processes.
    Performs formal root-cause analyses and develops corrective
    Drives Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and leads DFMEA and PFMEA activities.
    Supports development and optimization of fabrication processes for large-format and next-generation cells.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    Coordinates closely with internal research, engineering, and production groups.
    Engages with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure process /

    Responds efficiently to customer inquiries and program needs.

    Innovation & Continuous Improvement

    Contributes to technical advancement through improved methodologies, materials integration, or process innovation.

  • Requirements
    - 5+ years of experience in lithium-ion battery product development, including mandatory hands-on experience with silicon -based cell chemistry.

    - 2+ years of team-leadership or management experience within R&D or product engineering.

    - Experience with high-volume manufacturing of lithium-ion cells.

    - Familiarity with automotive or Tier-1 supplier development processes is preferred.

    - Proficiency with APQP, DFM, FMEA, and standard engineering validation methodologies.

    - Strong technical writing skills and basic verbal communication in English.

    - Ability to work fully on-site in South Korea, including participation in late-evening calls with global teams.

    - Demonstrated ability to provide and receive constructive engineering feedback.

    - Evidence of technical innovation through publications, patents, or presentations is beneficial.

The engineer will be responsible for executing material evaluations, formula development, process optimization, and cell-design activities aligned with the technical roadmap. This role includes designing cell products to meet customer requirements, validating electrochemical and safety performance, and driving continuous improvement. The engineer will lead NPI (New Product Introduction) activities, prepare and release technical documentation, collaborate with customers on development topics, and provide support across internal departments on technical issues related to cell products.

The position is based on-site in South Korea, working closely with global engineering, materials, and production teams.
