The team is a leading venture company within the Japanese space industry focused on rocket component development. Their vision of an accessible space industry is backed by their practical, flexible, and logical approach to design of rocket components which allows them to compete in the market with reliable products that are competitively priced.

In this role you will take on an active role in the legal and general affairs department as a hands-on leader. By overseeing a wide range of legal and general affairs responsibilities your work will help to ensure compliance, grow the team, and pave the way for the development of advanced space technologies in this growing industry in a well positioned team headed for IPO.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    -Negotiate, draft, and review contracts both international and domestic.
    -Provide legal support and advice for intellectual property and research agreements.
    -Insure compliance with export control laws and foreign trade acts.
    -From a legal and general affairs view help the team to prepare for IPO.
    -Establish internal controls and policies across departments and manage shareholder/board discussions.
    -Manage, evaluate, and help to grow junior staff members.
  • Requirements
    -2 or more years in corporate legal work either with a firm or internal.
    -Experience with contract review in both Japanese and English
    -Experience overseeing general affairs or legal staff.
    -Experience or motivation for DeepTech industries or ventures.
  • Preferred
    -Strong legal experience in tangible products, technology, or manufacturing industries.
    -Experience with FEFTA, export control law, or similar.
    -Experience in management with a hands-on approach and no fear of leading by example.
