Sales Engineer for Global Leader in Sealing Technology

In this role you will be responsible for solution-based sales of industrial sealing, bearing, and related products to domestic customers in Japan.

Rather than simply selling components, the position focuses on understanding customer applications, identifying technical and commercial needs, and proposing solutions that improve overall equipment performance. The role includes management of existing accounts, acquisition of new projects, and development of new business opportunities.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    Sales Planning & Execution
    • Develop and execute sales plans for assigned accounts and target markets
    • Manage sales performance and support achievement of business targets
    • Handle additional sales-related responsibilities as needed

    Existing Account Management
    • Maintain and expand relationships with existing customers
    • Manage ongoing customer accounts and support long-term business growth
    • Identify additional needs and propose suitable products and solutions

    New Business Development
    • Identify and develop new customers and business opportunities
    • Acquire new projects and expand market presence
    • Build relationships with new stakeholders in target industries

    Solution Proposal
    • Propose hydraulic and pneumatic seals, bearing, and related solutions based on customer applications
    • Coordinate with internal technical teams when advanced engineering support is required
    • Support customer discussions involving technical terminology, drawings, and basic calculations
  • Requirements
    • Basic knowledge of mechanical terminology and calculations
    • Ability to read and understand technical drawings at a basic level
    • PC skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
    • Experience using ERP systems
    • Valid Japanese driver’s license with practical driving ability
    • Business-level English communication
  • Preferred
    • Experience in design or sales of seals and/or bearings
    • Experience in the same or a similar industry
    • Highly motivated, proactive, and self-driven
    • Able to take initiative and work independently
