This company is a global automotive technology supplier specializing in advanced sensing systems, electrification, and intelligent mobility solutions.
The company operates internationally with strong R&D capabilities and collaborates with major OEMs to develop next-generation safety and in-cabin technologies.
In this role, you will support the development and functional verification of embedded software used in automotive electronic control units.
You will work independently at the manufacturing site while collaborating closely with software engineers in Tokyo and overseas. The position focuses on confirming basic and complex software behavior, analyzing technical issues, supporting production-related software validation, and ensuring that software functions correctly before and during manufacturing launch.
Job Description

- Responsibilities
- Embedded Software Development & Technical Support
・Develop, modify, and support embedded software for automotive electronic-control products.
・Review software design, implementation, and functional behavior.
・Analyze and resolve technical issues throughout the development and production lifecycle.
・Support continuous improvement of software quality, reliability, and maintainability.
Software Validation & Functional Verification
・Verify the basic and complex operation of embedded software used in automotive ECUs.
・Define and execute software test and validation activities.
・Confirm that ECU functions behave according to technical requirements and expected system behavior.
・Analyze test results, investigate failures, and coordinate corrective actions with development teams.
・Support production and end-of-line software verification activities.
Global Engineering Coordination
・Collaborate closely with overseas software-development teams through technical meetings, reviews, and issue-resolution activities.
・Communicate software behavior, validation results, and technical risks clearly in English.
・Coordinate with the Tokyo-based software team and visit the Tokyo office approximately once per week when required.
・Prepare and maintain technical reports, software specifications, and engineering documentation.
Problem Solving & Quality Improvement
・Investigate software defects and quality issues using structured root-cause analysis.
・Apply standard problem-solving methods to implement corrective and preventive actions.
・Identify opportunities to improve testing methods, software processes, and engineering efficiency.
・Propose technical solutions for complex issues affecting software or production operation.
Technology & Knowledge Development
・Research and evaluate emerging software-development methods and digital tools.
・Explore the use of AI and other technologies to improve engineering productivity and software quality.
・Share technical knowledge with local and global engineering teams.
・Contribute to technical ideas, innovation activities, and intellectual-property creation where applicable.

- Requirements
- ・Hands-on experience in embedded systems or embedded software development.
・Approximately 7+ years of relevant experience preferred.
・Candidates with 3–5 years of strong practical experience may also be considered if they can ramp up quickly.
・Ability to independently analyze and resolve complex software issues.
・Experience working directly with embedded software rather than only coordinating projects.
・Business-level English for technical communication with overseas engineering teams.
・Ability to work primarily onsite at the manufacturing location.

- ・Experience developing automotive ECUs or embedded vehicle systems.
・Experience with ADAS, telematics, body electronics, or similar electronic-control products.
・Experience supporting software validation, production testing, or end-of-line systems.
・Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams.
・Familiarity with automotive software-development or quality processes.
・Japanese communication ability.
・Experience supporting manufacturing sites or production-launch activities.
・Direct ADAS experience is preferred but not mandatory.
