The Senior Sourcing Program Manager is responsible for leading sourcing strategy and procurement execution across the full automotive product lifecycle, from RFQ and business award through production and end-of-life. Acting as the key interface between Procurement, Engineering, Program Management, Manufacturing, Finance, and Sales, this role ensures BOM cost targets, sourcing strategies, and supply chain readiness are achieved while supporting profitable program delivery. In addition, the position supports Japan Make & Deliver activities and indirect procurement initiatives, contributing to operational excellence and long-term procurement strategy.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    Lead sourcing execution for awarded automotive programs, ensuring BOM cost targets, sourcing plans, and supply chain readiness are achieved throughout the product lifecycle.
    Drive procurement activities from RFQ through production and end-of-life, supporting successful program launches, cost competitiveness, and supply continuity.
    Develop and implement sourcing strategies including dual sourcing, design-to-cost initiatives, and Make vs. Buy decisions to optimize cost, quality, and manufacturing flexibility.
    Manage BOM cost performance throughout the product lifecycle, identifying cost reduction opportunities and supporting long-term profitability.
    Support customer pursuits and RFQs by providing competitive BOM costing, sourcing strategies, and procurement input for business case development.
    Collaborate closely with Engineering, Program Management, Sales, Manufacturing, Finance, Category Management, and Value Management to achieve program objectives and resolve cross-functional issues.
    Coordinate Japan Make & Deliver activities and support indirect procurement by working with internal stakeholders and global procurement teams to ensure timely, compliant sourcing execution.
    Drive continuous improvement of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and cross-functional collaboration while ensuring alignment with global procurement standards.
  • Requirements
    Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
    8+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, engineering, program management, quality, or product development.
    Strong understanding of automotive product development and procurement processes.
    Experience managing BOM cost, sourcing strategy, and supplier-related activities throughout the product lifecycle.
    Strong analytical, financial, and commercial acumen.
    Excellent project management and cross-functional leadership skills.
    Ability to influence stakeholders across Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Sales, and Procurement.
    Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
    Ability to work independently in a fast-paced global environment.
    Business-level English.
  • Preferred
    Experience within the automotive industry.
    Experience supporting RFQs, sourcing strategy, and new business pursuits.
    Technical understanding of electronic and mechanical automotive components.
    Experience with Design-to-Cost, Value Engineering, or Best Cost Analytics activities.
    Experience working with global procurement organizations and multinational teams.
