Internship Experience Vol.1
Hello, my name is Patrick! My name is Patrick. I am from Taiwan, completed my MBA at Waseda University, and am currently doing an internship at Turnpoint Consulting.
In this report, I summarize my three-month internship experience, including my reasons for choosing Turnpoint Consulting, the work environment, and the knowledge I gained through my marketing internship.
1. why did you choose Turnpoint Consulting?
Before I get into this question, I think I need to share a little about why I am interested in recruiting. I have always enjoyed learning new things and am good at trying new things. In addition to that, I have a personality that likes to connect with people from all walks of life. The world of recruiting is exactly all of these criteria and I decided to jump at the opportunity for an internship in this industry.
As for why I chose Turnpoint Consulting, the first reason was that they specialized in the automotive field. I had worked for a foreign automaker in Taiwan, and I felt I could make use of my experience in that field. Another attractive point was that the language used in the company was English. I think a work environment where we can communicate smoothly in English is very comfortable and easy for workers from overseas to get used to.
Also, one of the most important factors in why I chose the company was the interview experience. It was not in the usual question-and-answer format, but rather a casual dialogue between Andre, the representative of the company, and Mr. Shinya. During this selection process, I think it is a good idea to focus on what you can bring to the team, not just what you want to do as an intern. In fact, they were interested in my ideas, and the reason why I felt I could be challenged was the deciding factor in my decision to participate in the internship at Turnpoint Consulting.
2. the culture and environment of Turnpoint Consulting
Although I cannot claim to have a complete understanding of the company’s culture since I was only there for three months, from an intern’s perspective, I feel that Turnpoint Consulting is a relatively start-up environment and emphasizes a culture of openness and high performance in new endeavors. These factors have enriched my experience during my internship. Compared to other firms, everyone was very helpful and willing to help whenever I had a question. I also found them easy to talk to and friendly outside of the work environment.

3. work as a marketing internship
Looking back, I was very nervous on the first day. Would I be competent enough to participate in this internship? but in the end I had nothing to worry about. The orientation process was smooth, there was a detailed plan of what to do next, and I was able to learn step by step.
Our first task was to analyze our competitors. Through this task, we were able to compare and learn about the business landscape of the industry and the marketing strategies of other companies. After the competitive analysis, I had the opportunity to make a presentation to my managers and supervisors and present my views on how Turnpoint Consulting could improve in the area of marketing. To my surprise, they really discussed with me and did not take my suggestions, as an intern, lightly. Of course, they also gave me a lot of feedback. This experience helped me learn and understand more about the industry.
Over time, I became involved in managing social networking sites and creating content for platforms such as LinkedIn and Instagram. Through these tasks, I was able to improve my creative skills and effective use of social media.
In addition to that, as mentioned above, my supervisor was always willing to provide opportunities. If there was something I wanted to do, I could talk to them about it. Had I stayed on longer, there could have been a variety of other tasks and projects that could have challenged the intern, such as video production, email marketing, analyst work, etc.
What I learned through my internship
As I write this as the end of my internship nears, I am reflecting on the past three months. One of the things that I have gained throughout my experience has been the opportunity to meet some amazing employees. Talking with them and absorbing their stories and experiences has not only helped me build valuable friendships, but has also deepened my understanding of the intricacies of the business. Hearing from real employees was very enlightening for me and, as a recent graduate, it was a great experience to help me develop a vision for my future career path.
In terms of specific skills, I gained a deeper understanding of industry trends in the automotive and recruitment areas and learned about SEO and marketing with a focus on social media. This knowledge will be of great use in my future career, and I am glad that I was able to acquire practical skills through the internship.

5. at the end
After spending about three months as an intern at Turnpoint Consulting, I felt that the culture of the company is not just about achieving goals, but a place where there is an atmosphere of serious teamwork. And the most important point is that there is an open atmosphere where you can propose any new idea or something you want to try, not only for daily intern work.
I am also very grateful to our marketing person, Singh. He was very patient, supportive, and gave me helpful tips and meaningful strategies on why we do this work, etc. Taking on the challenge of digital marketing and market research was like opening the door to a whole new world for me. I learned a lot and my internship at Turnpoint Consulting was an unforgettable experience.
Finally, if anyone is looking for a place to learn while growing personally and having fun, Turnpoint Consulting is the perfect fit. I am confident that it will be a great experience for everyone who attends!
