As a leader in the indirect purchasing area, you will be in charge of each business site (head office, factory, R&D, etc.) in Kanagawa Prefecture across the board. Although it is not a procurement that is directly related to "product costs" like direct purchasing, the essence of indirect purchasing is to optimize areas that are essential for running the company, such as temporary staffing, IT, equipment, and event management.
We will lead the optimal decision-making from the perspective of QCD (Quality, Cost, and Delivery) while coordinating with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and overseas head office purchasing for purchasing projects brought in from each business site. It is not just a "person in charge of obtaining quotations and ordering", but a purchasing leader position with a strong consulting color, responsible for designing purchasing strategies, building a competitive environment, negotiations, and governance.
This position is for a Segment Leader in Indirect Purchasing, responsible for overseeing indirect purchasing activities across each sites in Kanagawa Prefecture, including the headquarters, factories, and R&D facilities. Unlike direct purchasing, which directly affects product costs, indirect purchasing focuses on optimizing areas essential for smooth company operations, such as temporary staffing, IT, equipment, and event management.
In this role, you will:
・Lead decision-making on purchasing requests from various sites
・Collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and headquarters
・Optimize decisions based on QCD (Quality / Cost / Delivery) considerations
This is not simply a role for obtaining quotes and issuing orders; it is a strategic purchasing leadership position with strong consulting aspects, including designing procurement strategies, building competitive environments, negotiations, and governance.

- Responsibilities
- ■ Lead business in the indirect purchasing segment
・Supervision of indirect purchasing projects at each business site in Kanagawa Prefecture
- Achieving QCD performance in each segment (both mass production and projects)
・Management of purchasing KPIs and planning and implementation of improvement measures
■Sourcing/Creation of a competitive environment
・Planning, implementation, and construction of competitive sourcing conditions for RFI/RFP/RFQ
・Conduct Bid Analysis (side-by-side comparison) when selecting suppliers
・Conduct auctions as needed, negotiate prices and conditions
■Supplier Management
- Negotiating contract terms and conditions with suppliers (VRF, logistics requirements, etc.)
- Lead supplier performance monitoring and improvement
・Identification of risk suppliers and promotion of corrective plans ・Ensuring ethics and compliance with laws and regulations
■Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
・Consultation with the person in charge of each business site

・Cost management and improvement proposals

of exhibitors and management companies for exhibitions and events (Japan Mobility Show, etc.) ・Purchasing operations related to various promotions and external communication measures
■Leading the Indirect Purchasing Segment
・Oversee indirect purchasing requests across Valeo sites in Kanagawa
・Ensure QCD performance targets are met for both mass production and projects
・Manage purchasing KPIs and plan/implement improvement initiatives
■Sourcing & Creating Competitive Environments
・Plan and execute RFI/RFP/RFQ processes and establish sourcing conditions ensuring competitiveness
・Conduct bid analyses during supplier selection
・Conduct auctions or negotiations on price and terms as necessary
■Supplier Management
・Negotiate contracts with suppliers (e.g., VRF, logistics requirements)
・Monitor supplier performance and lead improvement initiatives
・Identify risk suppliers, implement corrective plans, and ensure ethical and legal compliance
■Collaboration with Internal and External Stakeholders
・Provide consultation and purchasing advice to site personnel
・Coordinate with Project Buyers
・Report to Valeo headquarters (GSD Purchasing Department)
・Lead and support decision-making in Sourcing Committees
■Mid- to Long-Term Strategy & Data Management
・Develop medium-term procurement budgets and productivity improvement plans
・Manage and analyze purchasing spend and market trend data
