A global automotive technology supplier develops advanced mobility technologies supporting vehicle electrification, intelligent driving, and next-generation safety systems. The organization collaborates closely with major automotive manufacturers worldwide and operates engineering and development centers across multiple regions.
In Japan, the company maintains R&D facilities dedicated to advanced sensing technologies and intelligent driving systems, supporting global development programs in the field of ADAS and automated driving.
In this role you will be responsible for leading system validation activities for advanced in-cabin sensing technologies, including camera and radar systems used in driver monitoring and occupant monitoring applications.
You will lead a system validation sub-project, ensuring that testing activities meet Quality, Cost, and Timing (QCT) targets. The role includes technical leadership in verification and validation (V&V), coordination of cross-functional engineering teams, and communication with internal stakeholders and customers.

- Responsibilities
- Technical Project Management
・Define and lead the strategy for system integration, verification, and validation (V&V) activities.
・Plan validation activities including cost estimation and testing strategies, and obtain approval from project leadership.
・Lead system validation sub-projects and consolidate validation results from SIL, HIL, and vehicle-level testing.
・Manage validation resources, schedules, and budgets.
・Monitor project progress and proactively identify risks to schedule or deliverables.
Validation Strategy Development
・Develop validation strategies tailored to camera- and radar-based sensing systems.
・Ensure testing covers key performance indicators such as:
・Detection accuracy
・Robustness
・Compliance with safety standards such as Euro NCAP.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
・Work closely with project management teams to coordinate deliverables, schedules, cost management, and quality assurance.
・Analyze system risks using FMEA methodologies and develop appropriate validation approaches.
・Collaborate with other Technical Project Managers to evaluate change requests and revise validation strategies as required.
・Reporting and Stakeholder Communication
・Report validation progress and performance KPIs to project leadership.
・Communicate with customers regarding validation strategies, performance targets, and test activities.
・Escalate risks related to resources, budget, or schedules, along with proposed mitigation strategies.

- Requirements
- ・3+ years of validation experience in the automotive industry
・Experience in camera-based products or ADAS-related system development
・Business-level Japanese and English communication skills
・Experience in system validation methodologies and testing environments.

- Preferred
- ・Experience in developing ADAS, Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS), or Occupant Monitoring Systems (OMS)
・Deep knowledge of in-cabin sensing technologies (camera and/or radar sensors)
・Knowledge of fundamental principles of image processing, computer vision, or radar signal processing, and methods for verifying and validating perception systems
・Knowledge of embedded systems, software architecture, and system integration
・Strong analytical mindset with the ability to deeply understand complex challenges and stakeholder expectations
・Experience in management, including planning, progress tracking, and priority-based control
・Deep knowledge of automotive process models (e.g., Automotive SPICE), particularly in the verification and validation process areas (SYS.4, SYS.5)
・Experience in risk management and risk-based testing
・Knowledge of automotive standards and regulations related to in-cabin sensing (e.g., Euro NCAP, GTR)
