A global automotive technology supplier develops advanced mobility technologies supporting vehicle electrification, intelligent driving, and next-generation safety systems. The organization collaborates closely with major automotive manufacturers worldwide and operates engineering and development centers across multiple regions.
In Japan, the company maintains R&D facilities dedicated to advanced sensing technologies and intelligent driving systems, supporting global development programs in the field of ADAS and automated driving.
In this role you will be responsible for driving new business creation and innovation strategy by leveraging advanced technology assets in areas such as software, AI, sensing, and electrification.
The position goes beyond traditional business development, focusing on creating new markets and ecosystems by collaborating with external stakeholders including startups, universities, government institutions, and cross-industry partners.
You will act as an innovation leader / intrapreneur, transforming emerging technologies into scalable business opportunities and large-scale projects at both national and global levels.
Job Description

- Responsibilities
- Technology Strategy & Business Creation
・Translate internal R&D technologies into new business opportunities across non-automotive domains (e.g., smart cities, energy, robotics).
・Conceptualize and lead Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives with external partners.
・Develop new business models leveraging advanced technologies such as AI, edge computing, and cloud integration.
Project Creation & Ecosystem Development
- Lead the creation of large-scale projects in collaboration with:
・Government agencies
・Research institutions
・Global
headquarters ・Structure projects that can influence industry standards and future market frameworks.
・Utilize public funding and strategic partnerships to scale initiatives.
External Engagement & Platform Positioning
・Participate in government committees and industry working groups.
・Contribute to roadmap development and standardization activities.
・Strengthen the company's positioning as a key technology platform within emerging ecosystems.

- Requirements
- ・5+ years of experience in software development
・Background in IT, technology, or IoT industries (non-automotive preferred)
・Ability to understand software trends and translate them into business opportunities
・Comfortable working in a global environment using English
・Domestic travel to business development sites as needed
・International travel to global offices (e.g., France, China) depending on project requirements
