This company is a global automotive technology supplier specializing in advanced sensing systems, electrification, and intelligent mobility solutions.
The company operates internationally with strong R&D capabilities and collaborates with major OEMs to develop next-generation safety and in-cabin technologies.

In this role you will lead quality activities for a major automotive electronics project from new-project development through mass production.

You will act as the quality bridge between a Japanese OEM customer, overseas development teams, and the manufacturing site, coordinating project quality, product/process changes, quality issues, customer approvals, audits, and continuous improvement.

This is not an inspection-only position. The role requires someone who can independently investigate quality problems, drive root-cause analysis and recurrence prevention, coordinate multiple departments, and communicate directly with customers.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    Project & Launch Quality
    ・Lead quality activities from new-project development through mass-production launch.
    ・Manage quality deliverables, plans, documentation, and project-quality reviews.
    ・Apply lessons learned from previous quality issues to new projects.
    ・Coordinate quality requirements across development and manufacturing teams.

    Change Management & Quality Assurance
    ・Manage 4M and engineering changes covering Man, Machine, Material, and Method.
    ・Coordinate customer notification, submission, and approval of product/process changes.
    ・Review and update Control Plans and related quality documentation.
    ・Support initial-sample approval and customer submission activities.

    Problem Solving & Quality Improvement
    ・Lead structured problem solving for significant product and process quality issues.
    ・Perform or coordinate root-cause analysis and recurrence-prevention activities.
    ・Support 8D reporting, containment, corrective actions, and effectiveness verification.
    ・Work with manufacturing sites and suppliers to drive quality improvements.

    Customer Quality
    ・Act as a key quality contact for Japanese automotive OEM customers.
    ・Coordinate customer complaints, quality concerns, and technical-quality discussions.
    ・Prepare and consolidate customer-facing quality documentation.
    ・Support customer system and process audits.

    Global & Cross-Functional Coordination
    ・Coordinate daily with overseas development and quality teams.
    ・Work closely with the Japanese manufacturing-quality organization.
    ・Consolidate overseas technical and quality information for Japanese customers.
    ・Support and guide other project-quality team members.
  • Requirements
    ・5+ years of Quality Assurance / Quality Control experience within a manufacturing environment.
    Relevant industries may include automotive, automotive components, mechanical products, electronics, semiconductor, & other complex manufacturing sectors
    ・Strong practical experience in quality problem solving, including root-cause investigation, corrective action, recurrence prevention, cross-functional improvement activities
    ・Ability to independently drive quality issues through resolution.
    ・Experience working with multiple internal departments and stakeholders.
    ・Basic Excel skills.
    ・Business-level English (TOEIC 700)
    ・Conversational Japanese to business-level with spoken communication is more important than written ability.
  • Preferred
    ・Automotive project-quality experience.
    ・Japanese OEM customer-facing experience.
    ・4M change-management experience.
    ・8D / Control Plan / structured problem-solving experience.
    ・Customer audit support.
    ・Supplier-quality coordination.
    ・Management, team-lead, or mentoring experience.
    ・Experience working in Japan and familiarity with Japanese business communication.
