As an in-vehicle UX/UI development engineer who creates user experiences for next-generation connected cars, I lead UI design for advanced systems such as IVI, meters, and HUDs. In addition to our in-house planning, design, and development teams, we collaborate with global technology partners to deliver intuitive and engaging in-vehicle experiences from the customer's perspective. Engaging with cutting-edge connected technologies and influencing the car lives of users worldwide is a major rewarding role.

- (1) Assigned Development Areas, Business Overview, and Role within R&D, Positions
of the Affiliated Organization With the rapid evolution and expansion of Connected Cars & Services (CCS), expectations for interfaces that connect cars and users have risen significantly. To meet these expectations, our mission is not only to convey important information to customers through in-vehicle infotainment systems (IVI), meter systems, and HUD (Head Up Display) systems, but also to provide this information in a graphical user interface (GUI) that is easier to understand, more usable, and more beautifully expressed.
(2) Specific Job Responsibilities and Expected Roles
Inside and Outside the Department As members of the organization responsible for connected car and service development, we are recruiting engineers who plan, propose, and design UIs from the customer's perspective and create new experiences through advanced interfaces. Engineers in this organization are responsible for designing new UIs and delivering them to customers in collaboration with members of the internal product planning department, designers, interior and exterior engineers, as well as external stakeholders (Google, Amazon, Apple, etc.).
Examples of specific job duties include the following:
・UI specifications based on customer-centric
UI design, product planning, and the requirements of the experiment department; realization
of graphic design ・As a UI technology leader, you coordinate requirements from internal and external stakeholders, create specifications for IVI/METER/HUD, and manage
software implementation. (3) Workplace environment and work style (team composition, workplace atmosphere,
characteristics) This department has about 300 members, with 20~50 people per division, and a high proportion of mid-career hires. We are responsible for both mass production development and advanced development, and the workplace has a lively atmosphere of discussion. In addition to internal connected departments, this department offers many communication opportunities with overseas bases and overseas suppliers

IVI-equipped functions and foundational technologies such as voice recognition, Bluetooth, WiFi, navigation, and in-vehicle communications; system design
using Android Automotive and OSS assets; software
design/implementation experience for electronic components; team leader experience
; basic knowledge of vehicle electronics and electrical systems, able to
anticipate vehicle systems necessary for service realization; HMI design and development experience (either system or component)
