Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    Lead software execution for telematics projects from planning through delivery.
    Act as the main point of contact for all software-related topics with the customer.
    Coordinate globally distributed, cross-functional virtual teams.
    Monitor and control project metrics including schedule, cost, product quality, and process adherence.
    Ensure team members understand project goals, roles, and responsibilities.
    Define software project plans, synchronize with broader program schedules, and manage milestones.
    Drive communication and issue resolution with internal stakeholders and external customers.
    Provide regular status updates to senior leadership and support project reviews.
    Oversee release planning and manage delivery of software components through maturity gates.
    Support alignment with internal process models and customer-specific requirements (e.g., Automotive SPICE).
  • Requirements
    Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer Science, IT) or equivalent.
    Fluent in Japanese (Level 2 or above) and business-level English.
    Proven experience in software project management in a global development environment.
    Strong knowledge of project methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
    Experience leading teams of 10 or more, directly or indirectly.
    Familiarity with process standards such as Automotive SPICE or CMMI.
    Excellent Communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
    Ability to manage complexity and break down technical systems effectively.
  • Preferred
    Certified Project Management credentials (e.g., PMP).
    Experience in automotive or embedded software development.
    Familiarity with Automotive SPICE Level 3 implementation.
    Leadership experience managing larger teams (25+ members).
    Fluent Japanese.
