As for products for individuals, we mainly manufacture and sell in-vehicle equipment such as car navigation systems, car audio systems, and drive recorders. For corporate customers, the company's main business is mobility solution services. In addition to its own brand of car navigation systems, the company also supplies OEM products to automobile manufacturers for their OEM car navigation systems. from 2020, the company is working with a major automobile parts manufacturer to develop an integrated cockpit for the next generation of CASE automobiles.

As a member of the Patent Section 1 of the Intellectual Property Department, you will be responsible for the following tasks.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    Invention discovery from business divisions (planning, technology, etc.)
    ・Prosecution and prosecution of patents in Japan and abroad (especially in Japan, the U.S. and Europe) (patent applications, prosecution in cooperation with patent firms, etc.)
    ・Various search services such as prior art search before application, clearance search against other companies' patents, etc.
    ・Infringement judgment in patent applications/dispute cases, and validity judgment ・Research services related to in-house education on patent issues ・Patent application/infringement judgment in dispute cases infringement judgments and validity judgments in patent exploitation/dispute cases
    ・Providing in-house education related to patents
  • Requirements
    At least 5 years of work experience in an intellectual property department of a company or a patent firm (especially in the technical fields of electrical/mechanical/software, etc.)
    ・Ability to read and respond to patent specifications and office actions in English
    ・Interest in our business and technology
    ・Smooth communication with internal and external parties Able to communicate smoothly with internal and external parties.
  • Preferred
    Experience in patent liaison (patent license negotiation, patent assignment negotiation, dispute resolution, etc.) in a company's intellectual property department
    ・Experience in a company's overseas intellectual property department or overseas patent office
    ・Intellectual Property Management Skills Test Level 2 or above
    ・TOEIC score 500 or above
