A joint venture established by a German and a Japanese automotive parts manufacturer to provide climate control systems for vehicles. The joint venture develops heating and air conditioning solutions for special purpose vehicles such as buses, trucks, construction vehicles, and campers to support improved vehicle comfort and safety in the Japanese market. It is primarily strong in auxiliary heaters and climate control systems, and provides sales and after-sales service throughout Japan

You will serve as the key finance leader for Japan, overseeing end-to-end accounting operations, statutory and IFRS reporting, full financial planning Working closely with local, regional and global teams, you will Working closely with local, regional and global teams, you will drive budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial governance while leading a lean local team and managing external vendors.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    - Oversee all aspects of financial control, including accounting, reporting, compliance, and internal controls.
    - Partner with local and regional teams to support strategic initiatives and business performance.
    - Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with local and global standards.
    - Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
    - Manage monthly financial performance reviews, variance analysis, and reporting packages.
    - Provide deep sales, margin, and expense analysis to support management and relevant stakeholders.
    - Support strategic projects such as special price, project price and cost optimization projects.
    - Oversee audits and liaise with external and internal stakeholders.
    - Play a key role in strengthening governance, improving systems, and driving process excellence.
  • Requirements
    - Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline; CPA / ACCA equivalent preferred
    - 8-12 years of finance experience in a multinational environment with at least 3 years in budgeting/controlling experience.
    - Solid knowledge of Japan Statutory, tax, and customs requirements
    - Fluent in English; Japanese proficiency strongly preferred
    - Strong exposure to Strong exposure to product landed costing, margin analysis, and financial reporting
