This role works closely with suppliers to develop and improve ceramic components used in advanced equipment systems. It combines technical collaboration on product development with oversight of supplier quality and manufacturing performance. The position requires strong ceramics expertise and frequent coordination with global teams and domestic suppliers.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    - Evaluates technical requirements of new and existing products. Applies knowledge of qualified sources and products to recommend materials to Design Engineering, which would result in savings, lead time reductions, system improvements, increased life and/or mitigated risk.
    - Work with New Product Development teams to ensure the integrity and clarity of engineering drawing requirements and that all expectations are communicated effectively to supporting suppliers.
    - Participation with New Product Introduction teams to ensure suppliers are involved in the development and review of specifications to promote design for manufacturability.     - Continuous involvement in the Supplier Selection Process to develop a supply base that provides competitive advantage in quality, value/cost, delivery and technology. delivery and technology.
    - Leads the supplier technical audit process and evaluates supplier performance and capability, drive continuous improvement opportunities at Training other supplier engineers on the supplier audit and evaluation process.
    - Leads quality problem resolutions and incident management, drives root cause and correction action. Identifies and drives broad based systemic supplier resolutions at the process level.
    - Assist in cost planning by monitoring key cost drivers, supply markets, to ensure a competitive advantage.

  • Requirements
    Functional Knowledge
    Demonstrates deep and/or broad expertise in a specialized discipline or field.

    Business Expertise
    Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or services.

    Experience Required
    Experience in development or quality assurance of ceramic products or ceramic-related materials.

    Skills Required
    Knowledge of materials engineering and ceramics.
    Understanding properties of materials such as aluminum oxide, silicon nitride, and silicon carbide.
    Knowledge of ceramic processing technologies such as sintering, grinding, and joining.

    English Requirement
    Business-level English (English interview required; regular reporting to US headquarters).

  • Preferred
    Desired Technical Familiarity
    Bulk ceramics components used inside chambers, such as nozzles, blades, rings, domes, pins, and liners.
    Ceramic heaters and ceramic electrostatic chucks (HTR/ESC), which are critical and complex chamber components.
    Materials primarily include Aluminum Oxide (Al₂O₃) and Aluminum Nitride (AlN).
