As a UX/UI Design Manager, you will lead UX/UI design activities across a wide range of automotive digital products and platforms for a major Japanese OEM. Working primarily on-site with the customer, you will drive UX/UI strategy and execution from concept through production, ensuring intuitive, high-quality user experiences while balancing customer requirements, technical feasibility, and delivery timelines. Acting as the primary UX/UI interface between the customer and global design, engineering, and product teams, you will lead design direction, mentor designers, and coordinate cross-functional collaboration across Japan, China, India, and the United States.

- Responsibilities
- Lead UX/UI design activities across multiple automotive programs and product platforms, adapting solutions to customer requirements and technical constraints.
Serve as the primary UX/UI design interface for a major Japanese OEM, facilitating design discussions, workshops, reviews, and customer alignment activities.
Own the end-to-end UX/UI design process, from concept development through production implementation and launch support.
Collaborate closely with software development, engineering, and product teams to ensure design concepts are technically feasible and accurately implemented.
Lead and mentor UX/UI designers by providing design direction, conducting reviews, and promoting collaboration across distributed global teams.
Create and maintain UX/UI deliverables including user flows, wireframes, prototypes, design specifications, and high-fidelity interfaces using Figma.
Coordinate with global teams and external partners to ensure design consistency, quality, and successful project execution.
Drive continuous improvement of the user experience by incorporating customer feedback, usability evaluations, and design best practices while balancing user needs, technical limitations, and project timelines.

- Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in UX/UI Design, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, or a related discipline.
7+ years of professional UX/UI design experience, including leadership of complex digital or embedded system projects.
Proven experience working directly with Japanese OEMs within the automotive industry.
Business-level Japanese with strong understanding of Japanese business culture.
Business-level English for daily collaboration with global teams.
Advanced proficiency with Figma for UX/UI design, documentation, and collaboration.
Experience working closely with software development and engineering teams.
Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX/UI design across complex products.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
Experience working within global, cross-functional development teams.
