This role focuses on the design and development of micro connectors for the mobile electronics market, including smartphones, tablets, and AR/VR devices. The engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and developing new connector products based on global customer requirements, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and international engineering teams across Japan, Korea, and China. The role also involves supporting prototype development and establishing processes for mass production.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    Design and develop new connector products based on market needs and customer requirements.
    Create product concepts and specifications based on project planning.
    Perform detailed mechanical design using CAD and engineering tools such as FEA.
    Develop prototype samples, conduct testing, and refine designs to achieve optimal performance.
    Present design concepts and specifications to customers and internal stakeholders when required.
    Collaborate with tooling, manufacturing engineering (ME), and quality assurance (QA) teams to establish mass production processes.
    Support product launch and transfer to domestic or overseas manufacturing sites.
    Work cross-functionally with internal teams and international engineering groups to ensure smooth product development and production readiness.
  • Requirements
    Degree in Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
    3–5+ years of experience in product development within an electrical or electronic component manufacturer.
    Experience with 3D CAD design (specific CAD software not required).
    Native-level Japanese communication skills.
    English ability at beginner to business level for communication with global teams.
  • Preferred
    Knowledge or interest in connectors and electronic components for the mobile electronics market.
    Experience working in cross-functional or global engineering teams.
    Interest in manufacturing processes and product commercialization.
    Willingness to communicate with overseas customers and collaborate with global teams.
