This role focuses on the design and development of high-performance connectors, particularly wire-to-board and wire-to-wire connectors for the general electronics market. The engineer will work closely with global engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to develop customer-driven connector solutions while ensuring high-speed signal performance, manufacturability, and product quality.
Job Description

- Responsibilities
- Design and develop connector products, particularly wire-to-board and wire-to-wire connectors, based on customer requirements.
Translate customer needs into detailed design specifications using mechanical engineering and signal transmission knowledge.
Perform engineering analysis including DFMEA, FEA, and tolerance analysis to validate product designs.
Lead technical design reviews and provide engineering input to cross-functional project teams.
Collaborate with global manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability, quality stability, and cost efficiency.
Work with project teams to meet development timelines and product release schedules.
Support technical discussions with customers through online meetings and on-site visits.
Incorporate feedback from production sites and manufacturing engineers into product design.

- Requirements
- Knowledge of high-speed signal transmission and mechanical engineering principles relevant to connector design.
Understanding of connector manufacturing processes.
Hands-on experience using 2D and 3D CAD tools for product design.
Knowledge of materials used in connector design and ability to evaluate performance, cost, and manufacturability.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to read and understand technical documents in English and communicate via email.
Japanese: Daily conversation level (JLPT N2 equivalent).
English: Business intermediate level.

- 5–10 years of connector design experience.
Ability to make independent technical decisions and negotiate with stakeholders.
Comfortable communicating in English within a global engineering environment.
