As a partner to the General Manager of the General Counsel, this position controls legal risks from all aspects of the company, business, and products and supports the sustainable growth of the business. In addition to stably operating existing legal practices, you will play a central role in both offense and defense, such as building new schemes for business expansion and strengthening the global product safety system.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    ■Corporate Legal Affairs
    ・Legal support for institutional operations (general meeting of shareholders, board of directors, management meeting) and secretariat operation
    ・Legal review of capital policy, M&A, and legal management of domestic and overseas subsidiaries
    ・Preparation and revision of internal regulations, labor legal affairs, and legal consultation for other corporate functions (management and general affairs areas)
    ■Business Legal Affairs and Contract Legal Affairs
    ・ Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various contracts (sales, joint development, licensing, etc.) based on business strategy
    ・ Legal review of new business schemes and extraction of legal issues
    ・Legal check of publicly available materials and establishment of a customer information management system
    ■Compliance and risk management
    ・ Operation of the Risk and Compliance Committee, planning and implementation of the system
    ・ Planning and implementation of company-wide compliance training
    ■Product Legal Affairs
    ・Regulatory research and compliance support related to products
    ・Establishment and operation of PL (Product Liability) response system, implementation of preventive measures (audits, awareness-raising, education)
    ・Formulation of screening standards for product manuals, labels, etc.
    ・ Command of initial response and dispute and external response when a product problem occurs
    ■Improvement of legal infrastructure (utilization of legal tech)
    ・ Introduction and operation management of contract management and legal investigation systems
    ・Selection and management of lawyers, formulation and management of legal budgets
  • Requirements
    ・Practical experience in legal affairs at a manufacturer (manufacturing and machinery manufacturer) (approximate: 3 years or more)
    ・Interpersonal negotiation skills: Ability
    to understand stakeholders in different positions inside and outside the company and build win-win and reasonable consensus ・Understanding and empathy for business: Ability
    to empathize with the company's vision and accompany it with a deep understanding of the business and products. ・Autonomous execution ability: The ability to investigate issues on their own and lead to solutions while involving those around them.

    ・Legal background (legal mind)
    at the level of a law school or law school graduate ・Lawyer (Japanese and foreign), bar exam experience, legal qualifications
