You will be in charge of designing the housing, exterior, basic structure, operation console, and display devices for a diverse range of products, including small sensors, microscopes, precision measuring instruments, laser markers, and 3D printers for factory automation (FA). You will be involved in the project from the product planning stage to mass production and post-launch support.
The department is responsible for defining requirements for each product, from conceptual design to detailed design, model making, evaluation, and mass production design, and provides design support across business divisions with the specialized capabilities unique to the common development department.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    Organize requirement specifications and conduct conceptual design
    ・Detailed structural design and modeling using 3D-CAD (SolidWorks, etc.) and outsourcing management
    ・Design verification using structural simulation
    ・Prepare prototypes and conduct functional evaluation, assembly evaluation and usability evaluation
    ・Conduct cost-efficient design for mass production ・Cooperate with mass production department to start up manufacturing, inspection and assembly processes ・Provide technical support for ODM projects ・Provide technical support for ODM projects Implementation of cost-effective design for mass production
    ・Initialization of molds with external manufacturers and technical support for ODM projects
    ・Initiation of manufacturing, inspection and assembly processes in cooperation with the mass production department
  • Requirements
    Working experience in design and development in structure/mechanism of mass-produced products at electrical/electronic/mechanical/industrial equipment/precision equipment manufacturers (approx. 3 years or more)
  • Preferred
    Experience in designing compact and robust/waterproof/drop impact resistant devices such as handheld devices
    ・Experience in structural design with user interfaces such as switches and touch panels
    ・Experience in designing molded plastic products and die castings (aluminum, zinc, magnesium) and starting up molds
    ・Experience in starting up parts and manufacturing in China and ASEAN countries ・Experience and knowledge of structural design using simulation ・Experience in using Solidworks 3D CAD software ・Experience in designing parts and manufacturing in China and ASEAN countries Experience in component start-up and manufacturing in China and ASEAN countries.
