In this role you will focus on the development and technical coordination of next-generation electric heating systems used in electrified vehicles, including high-voltage coolant heaters. You will serve as a technical interface between Japanese OEM customers and global engineering teams, supporting system development, technical discussions, and adaptation of globally developed products to meet Japanese market requirements.
Depending on experience and seniority, the position may involve either a technical project leadership role or an engineering execution role within the development team.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    ■ System Development & Technical Coordination
    ・Support the development of electric heating systems and related thermal control technologies for electrified vehicles.
    ・Communicate OEM technical requirements to global development teams and ensure proper implementation.
    ・Participate in system design discussions related to mechanical, thermal, and electronic control systems.

    ■ Customer Technical Interface
    ・Act as a technical liaison between Japanese OEM customers and international engineering teams.
    ・Support technical reporting, specification discussions, and project coordination.
    ・Present technical solutions and explain system design concepts to customers.

    ■ Global Engineering Collaboration
    ・Work closely with engineering teams located in Europe and Asia.
    ・Coordinate development activities and ensure product adaptation for Japanese OEM requirements.
    ・Manage communication between global development teams and local customer engineering teams.

    ■ Project and Team Coordination (Manager-Level Role)
    ・Support project planning, scheduling, and resource management.
    ・Manage project budgets and contribute to development team efficiency.
    ・Provide guidance and support to team members where applicable.

    ■ Travel
    ・Overseas travel: Approximately 1–2 times per year
    ・Domestic travel: Several trips per year to customer development or testing facilities
  • Requirements
    ■ For System Design Manager

    ・Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive electrical component system development (such as electric heaters, power electronics, or inverter systems)
    ・Knowledge of electrical and electronic engineering
    ・Japanese: Advanced business level (equivalent to JLPT N1)
    ・English: Business level for meetings and documentation

    ■ For Mechatronics Engineer
    ・Experience in automotive electrical component development, particularly power electronics or thermal systems
    ・Knowledge of electrical and electronic engineering
    ・Japanese: Advanced business level
    ・English: Business level communication ability
  • Preferred
    ・Experience developing or integrating high-voltage automotive components
    ・Experience working in global development environments
    ・Management experience or interest in moving into a leadership role (for senior candidates)
    ・Chinese language ability is a plus due to collaboration with overseas engineering teams
