In Japan, we have R&D bases specializing in advanced sensing technologies and intelligent driving systems, supporting global development programs in the fields of ADAS and autonomous driving.

In this role, you will lead Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) activities at a manufacturing site, ensuring 100% quality of incoming parts and protecting production lines from non-conforming products.

You will manage a small SQA team, drive rapid issue resolution using structured methodologies (QR/PDCA), and act as a key liaison between suppliers, purchasing, and internal manufacturing teams .
This is a highly visible role with direct impact on production stability, supplier performance, and customer satisfaction.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    Supplier Quality Management
    ・ Lead supplier quality activities to ensure incoming parts meet required standards.
    ・ Monitor supplier performance and maintain accurate parts status and quality data in internal systems.
    ・ Track progress through regular team reviews and ensure alignment with internal quality procedures.

    Non-Conformity Handling and Production Protection
    ・ Take immediate containment action when supplier-related quality issues occur in order to minimize production impact.
    ・ Lead root cause analysis and corrective action follow-up through structured problem-solving methods.
    ・ Support shop-floor quality improvement activities and ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.

    Team Leadership
    ・ Lead and develop the site supplier quality team.
    ・ Set priorities, monitor KPIs, and support continuous improvement in daily operations.
    ・ Coach team members on quality response processes and supplier issue management.

    Stakeholder Coordination
    ・ Act as the main bridge between suppliers, purchasing, and plant manufacturing teams.
    ・ Escalate critical supplier issues when necessary and coordinate support from relevant stakeholders.
    ・ Work with purchasing to manage supplier-related cost recovery when applicable.
  • Requirements
    ・ Experience in the automotive industry
    ・ Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with IATF 16949
    ・ Experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control OR Purchasing (direct materials )
    ・ Business-level English (email, reporting, supplier communication independently)
    ・ Conversational-level Japanese or above
    ・ Mechanical background (e.g., metal, plastics, assemblies)

    ・ Experience in Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA)
    ・ Experience conducting supplier audits or handling supplier quality issues
    ・ Experience working with global suppliers (China, India, Southeast Asia)
