Reporting to the Managing Director, this role is accountable for executing the company's global strategy locally, driving operational excellence, financial performance, customer success, and team development.

As the senior leader in Japan, you will represent the business with customers, partners, and employees while working closely with global leadership to ensure sustainable business growth.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    Lead the overall operations and business performance of the Japan organization, ensuring alignment with global business objectives.
    Develop and execute local operational strategies to drive sustainable growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
    Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, OEMs, dealers, and strategic partners while serving as the primary escalation point for critical issues.
    Drive commercial performance by supporting customer retention, business expansion, and successful project delivery.
    Manage the Japan P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, financial performance, resource utilization, and cost management.
    Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    Ensure compliance with local regulations, company policies, information security standards, and effective business risk management.
    Partner closely with global Product, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, HR, and Operations teams to align regional priorities, share market insights, and support global business initiatives.
  • Requirements
    Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related field.
    8+ years of leadership experience as a Country Manager, General Manager, Operations Manager, Business Unit Manager, or similar.
    Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing business operations.
    Strong financial management experience including P&L ownership, budgeting, and forecasting.
    Proven success driving operational excellence, business growth, and continuous improvement.
    Excellent customer relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
    Fluent Japanese and business-level English.
  • Preferred
    Experience in software, SaaS, automotive technology, or enterprise technology businesses.
    Experience working in multinational or global organizations.
    MBA or qualifications in Project Management, Operations Management, or Leadership.
    Experience leading teams within the Japanese market.
