In this role you will be responsible for supporting employees and plant management across the full HR lifecycle.

You will handle hands-on labor relations and employee matters while also working on performance management, grading and compensation systems, headcount planning, labor-cost control, talent development, labor-union relations, global employee support, and HR policy improvement.

As a Plant HR professional, you will work closely with both shop‑floor employees and management, independently handling complex employee‑relations matters.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    HR Systems & Performance Management
    ・Operate and improve performance evaluation, grading, compensation, and other HR systems.
    ・Consolidate performance evaluations and support annual evaluation cycles.
    ・Analyze HR data and recommend improvements to policies and processes.
    ・Review and update employment rules and HR policies.

    Workforce Planning & Labor Cost Management
    ・Develop headcount plans in line with changing production requirements.
    ・Coordinate employee allocation, internal transfers, and onboarding.
    ・Manage labor-cost budgets and conduct budget-versus-actual analysis.

    Labor Relations & Employee Relations
    ・Manage working hours, attendance, labor compliance, and workplace conditions.
    ・Handle employee-relations cases involving harassment, mental-health concerns, workplace disputes, and individual consultations.
    ・Develop and implement appropriate solutions to labor issues.
    ・Support labor-union communication and labor-management meetings.

    Global & Diverse Workforce Management
    ・Support temporary employees, contractors, technical trainees, overseas interns, and other employment categories.
    ・Coordinate visa and onboarding support for international employees.
    ・Support recruitment activities in cooperation with overseas HR teams.

    Talent Development & HRBP Support
    ・Plan and deliver plant and level-specific training programs.
    ・Support talent-management and employee-development initiatives.
    ・Coach plant managers and supervisors on HR-related topics.

    Engagement, Compliance & HR Operations
    ・Develop employee-engagement, workplace-wellbeing, and improvement initiatives.
    ・Manage attendance and payroll-related HR information.
    ・Support internal and external HR / manufacturing-related audits.
    ・Develop and track HR improvement action plans.

    General Affairs
    ・Coordinate health checks, stress-check programs, and workplace safety-related administration.
    ・Manage employee facilities and services such as parking, cafeteria, break areas, lockers, and access badges.
    ・Plan and coordinate employee health, safety, and engagement events.
  • Requirements
    ・5–7+ years of hands-on HR experience within a manufacturing plant.
    ・Strong experience in at least one of the following:
    ・Performance evaluation, grading, or compensation systems
    ・Employee/labor relations and complex case resolution
    ・HR policy or employment-rule management
    ・Structured recruitment/interviewing and candidate assessment
    ・Ability to communicate effectively with shop-floor / direct-labor employees as well as plant management.
    ・Strong practical understanding of Japanese labor and HR operations.
    ・Native-level Japanese communication skills
    ・Conversational-level English communication skills or above, with a willingness to continue improving.
    ・Regular visits to another domestic manufacturing site are required, with travel schedules coordinated within the HR team.
  • Preferred
    ・Experience in automotive, electrical/electronics, industrial equipment, or other manufacturing environments.
    ・Labor-union relations experience.
    ・Labor-compliance experience.
    ・HR experience within a foreign-capital or multinational company.
    ・Overseas working experience.
    ・Certified Health Supervisor qualification.
    ・Business-level English.
