We are looking for a Camera Sensor Technology Engineer to develop camera optics, image sensors, and optoelectronic technology for automotive display displays and computer vision applications. The successful candidate will work closely with Japanese customers to adapt their technical needs into camera solutions, while collaborating with global product teams to drive development activities.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    - Develop camera optics, image sensors, and optoelectronic components for automotive display displays and computer vision applications
    - Understand Japanese customer requirements and adapt and reflect them in camera system design
    - Work with global Liaise with global cross-functional product teams to discuss and agree on Japan market activities
    - Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for project planning, milestone management and technical discussions
    - Assist with module design and sensor technology for customer development projects (optics, mechanics, electronics) Support of module design and sensor technology (including optical, mechanical and electronic), image quality improvement, simulation and calibration activities with customers
    - Participation in demo activities, promotions and order taking activities to support business expansion and leading technology development
    - Production team along with customer requirements including prototype definition, delivery, mass production test system and improvement Support production teams with customer requirements, including improvements
    - Contribute to image sensor specification development, benchmarking and optimization for current and next generation cameras
    - Document and manage requirements, specifications and knowledge of automotive camera sensor technology
    - Take responsibility for technical issues and drive cross-functional coordination without formal leadership positions
  • Requirements
    - Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering, optoelectronics, physics, or related field
    - Knowledge and working experience in image sensor technology, optics, optoelectronic component development and evaluation, including measurement and quality assessment
    - Experience in automotive camera system development, including test and production systems, and understanding of the automotive development process
    - Skills in requirements engineering, documentation, and requirements management
    - Experience with automotive quality and reliability methodologies such as FMEA and DRBFM
    Experience working with Japanese OEMs and working directly with customers
    - Ability to work effectively in an international, multicultural, cross-functional team environment
    - Strong commitment to technical issues, problem-solving skills, ability to work with multiple Responsibility, problem-solving and multi-disciplinary coordination skills
    - Fluent or business level operational skills (reading, writing and speaking) in Japanese and English, as well as excellent communication skills

    MS is preferred MOS Expert equivalent level
    Automotive industry or industrial product development experience (mechanical)
