Supply and Demand Planner

This is a core position in the field of promoting stable supply and inventory cost optimization, from demand forecasting, ordering, and inventory management for spare parts in Japan and overseas, to emergency response and root cause analysis in case of shortages.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    ・Securing inventory of imported parts (forecasting, ordering, safety stock setting, etc.)
    ・Emergency response in case of shortages (e.g., arranging emergency air transportation)
    ・Root cause analysis and continuous improvement
    of shortages ・Optimization of inventory costs

    - Shortening stock-
    out time by expediting open orders, organizing emergency orders and find other solutions to cut waiting time for customers
    - Determining estimated time of arrival for stock-
    out parts and identifying root cause and countermeasures for long aging backorder parts
    - Communication with external (e.g. suppliers, logistics providers) and internal stakeholders (e.g. Procurement, Engineering, IT)
    - Master Data Maintenance, Parts Replacement Management and Safety Stock Maintenance
    - Demand Planning: Monitoring and adjusting forecasts to optimize order quantities
    - Leading projects related to automating processes and improving system efficiency
    - Organization of meetings with int./ext. stakeholders to improve business relationship and parts supply
  • Requirements
    ・Experience
    in supply chain management, supply and demand planning, or related fields, analytical skills, ambition, flexibility, communication skills
    in a cross-cultural environment, language skills: business level in both Japanese and English
  • Preferred
    ・Bachelor's or Master's degree
    in supply chain or logistics ・IT skills: experience in think-cell SAP MM, APO, SAP IBP, etc., experience
    in using Power BI ・Relevant qualifications
    such as AICS, IBF CFF/ACPF, German/Italian are preferred.
