In this role, you will manage Domain Controller development projects for automotive OEM and OES customers while overseeing project profitability, budgets, schedules, resources, and team performance.

The role consists of approximately 70% project management and people leadership and 30% cost and profitability management, requiring strong technical understanding, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    ・Project Management
    ・Lead assigned Domain Controller development programs from project launch through mass production.
    ・Define project scope, schedules, milestones, and delivery plans.
    ・Monitor project execution and ensure achievement of quality, cost, delivery, profitability, and timing targets.
    ・Manage project escalations and coordinate resolution of cross-functional issues.
    ・Lead, evaluate, coach, and develop Project Team Members (PTMs).
    ・Ensure compliance with company development processes, standards, ethics, and HSE requirements.

    Cost & Profitability Management
    ・Manage project budgets and profitability targets.
    ・Define and monitor development investments and cost plans.
    ・Prepare and submit investment requests (CAA / IAR).
    ・Review and challenge project cost assumptions.
    ・Drive Design-to-Cost activities and support profitability improvement initiatives.
    ・Escalate significant cost or profitability risks when required.

    Customer & Stakeholder Management
    ・Coordinate change management activities between internal teams and customers.
    ・Build strong relationships with domestic and international OEM customers.
    ・Prepare governance reviews, project reports, and executive updates.
    ・Ensure stakeholders receive timely and accurate project status information.

    Quality & Organizational Leadership
    ・Ensure project quality targets are achieved.
    ・Coordinate resolution of quality issues with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
    ・Support customer communication regarding project quality concerns.
    ・Assign tasks appropriately and drive issue resolution through the team rather than direct technical execution.
  • Requirements
    ・Automotive industry experience with a strong technical background.
    ・Experience in production management within the mechatronics field.
    ・Strong product knowledge and practical experience related to SMT, PCBA, electronic assemblies
    or practical experience with software refresh activities and related product understanding.
    ・Business-level English (required for customer communication).
  • Preferred
    ・Project team leadership or people management experience.
    ・Project management experience within automotive electronics or telematics products.
    ・Deep understanding of SMT/PCBA products.
    ・Sales background combined with strong SMT/PCBA product knowledge.
    ・Experience with similar electronic products if direct SMT/PCBA experience is unavailable.
    ・Japanese language skills.
    ・Experience working in global environments.
