The quality engineering team is recruiting for a variety of roles!

The Quality Engineering team plays a critical role in ensuring the design, development, production, and delivery of automotive components meet quality standards. Their role spans internal laboratory testing, new product introduction, supplier management, and customer interfacing. The position supports compliance with international quality and safety standards (e.g., IATF16949, ISO14001), and is a key member of the QRQC (Quick Response Quality Control) team, proactively managing risks, validating process changes, and improving quality control systems across the lifecycle of the product.

Role 1: Quality Lab and Assurance Leader
This position focuses heavily on the daily operation of a quality laboratory, emphasizing physical testing, lab staff training, equipment maintenance, and compliance with standards.

Role 2: Quality Engineer – Interior Switch Product Development
This role is centered on product quality control during development and manufacturing of interior switches, integrating design, process audits, and customer feedback while coordinating with suppliers.

Role 3: Project Quality Manager – Design & Risk Management Focus
This position acts to reduce risk in design and process phases of project development. It’s a front-line role ensuring that lessons learned and best practices are embedded early in the project while maintaining full customer transparency and compliance.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    Responsibilities across roles:

    -Maintain compliance with quality and safety standards (TS16949/IATF16949, ISO14001, ISO17025, etc.).
    -Conduct product testing, analyze data, and generate quality reports.
    -Oversee internal audits and assist with design and process validation (DFMEA, PFMEA, DV/PV).
    -Work across teams to coordinate design and supplier needs.
    -Document and monitor quality processes and developments.
    -Manage and communicate new changes and developments across the project effectively.
    -Facilitate training, continuous improvement (CIP), and long-term development of quality practices.

    Role 1: Quality Lab and Assurance Leader:
    -Manage the Quality Lab and Warranty Analysis Group operations.
    -Conduct and evaluate detailed lab tests; creating well communicated test reports.
    -Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
    -Develop and enforce lab procedures and safety protocols.
    -Manage lab budgets and initiate staff training programs.
    -Track lab test requests and ensure timely report completion.

    Role 2: Quality Engineer - Interior Switch Product Development
    -Focus on interior switch component quality across product lifecycle.
    -Conduct product reviews, failure analyses, and evaluation of new materials.
    -Communicate with vehicle manufacturers and suppliers for issue resolution and updates.
    -Track supplier progress and ensure compliance with SPPC and LLCs.
    -Support Purchasing and SQA teams for internal/external part quality.
    -Prepare deliverables for Product Validation Committee meetings.

    Role 3: Project Quality Manager:
    -Detect and reduce quality risk in the development phase.
    -Oversee strong DFMEA/PFMEA processes and design reviews.
    -Escalate critical issues to senior management and enforce “Stop at First No” principle.
    -Manage and track all quality issues through the project process.
    -Coordinate prototype and pre-serial quality validations with customer.
    -Serve as the customer-facing quality representative during launch phases.
    -Experience validating initial samples with customers.
  • Requirements
    Requirements across positions:
    -Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering or related field.
    -3 years or more of experience with quality assurance or manufacturing engineering.
    -Experience related to work in the quality engineering department.
    -English ability OR Japanese ability; One must be business professional level.
    -Understanding of quality system standards.
    -Understanding of process control techniques and methods.

    Role 1: Quality Lab Assurance Leader:
    -Knowledge of ISO170245 or experience managing lab operations, testing, and calibration.
    -Ability to perform lab testing and effectively create and communicate reports.
    -Ability to adhere to testing procedures.

    Role 2: Quality Engineer - Interior Switch Product Development
    -Experience in failure analysis and evaluation of parts and materials.
    -Understanding of Strategic Planning and Performance Committee (SPPC) concepts.
    -Communicate effectively between cross-functional teams.
    -Track timelines and support activities of supplier quality.

    Role 3: Project Quality Manager:
    -Strong knowledge of FMEA and validation.
    -Experience identifying and escalating risks during project development.
    -Knowledge of Quick Response Quality Control (QRQC).
  • Preferred
    Across all roles:
    -Strong Japanese and English ability
    -Experience in the automotive Tier 1 or Tier 2 industry.

    Role 1: Quality Lab Assurance Leader:
    -Budget Management Experience
    -Experience leading team training.

    Role 2: Quality Engineer - Interior Switch Product Development:
    -Familiar with customer reporting and deliverable preparation processes.
    -Knowledge of Limit Lesson Cards (LLC), Visual Review Forms (VRF), or other quality control procedure documents.

    Role 3: Project Quality Manager:
    -Experience in customer-facing roles, especially in a launch phase.
    -Experience coordinating deliverables across departments.
    -Familiarity with supplier management and incident reports.
