System Engineer

In this role, you will be responsible for system-level development of automotive electronic products, acting as a key technical interface between Japanese OEM customers and global development teams.

You will lead requirement definition, system architecture design, and validation activities, ensuring alignment between customer expectations and global product development. Your responsibilities include hands-on testing, technical coordination, and customer-facing activities.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    System Development & Architecture
    • Define system requirements and design system architecture
    • Develop functional specifications and ensure alignment with customer needs

    Customer & Technical Interface
    • Conduct technical discussions and requirement analysis with Japanese OEMs
    • Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations

    Global Coordination
    • Coordinate specifications and development activities with global headquarters (system/software teams)
    • Act as a bridge between Japan and overseas engineering teams

    Validation & Testing
    • Create system test specifications and validation plans
    • Execute system testing and evaluation using HILS and related ECUs
  • Requirements
    • 5+ years of experience in embedded systems or automotive product development
    • Experience in requirement definition, system design, or functional specification development
    • Basic understanding of software architecture or development processes
    • Ability to read technical documentation in English and communicate basic technical topics
    • Experience coordinating across teams and explaining technical concepts clearly
    • Fluent Japanese for customer communication
    • Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving ability
  • Preferred
    • Experience in automotive system development at an OEM or Tier 1 supplier
    • Knowledge of Functional safety (ISO 26262), , Cybersecurity (ISO 21434) or ASPICE
    • Experience with requirement management tools (e.g., DOORS)
    • Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, etc.)
    • Experience working with global teams or participating in English meetings
    • Understanding of ECU architecture and electronic hardware
    • Proactive and self-driven with strong ownership
    • Curious and motivated to learn new technologies
    • Able to collaborate effectively across global teams
    • Strong communication and coordination skills
    • Logical thinker with structured problem-solving ability
