You will utilize your expertise in metallic materials to lead the development of materials to achieve carbon neutrality and a circular economy. You will be in charge of the entire process from the creation of new themes for sustainable product design to material selection, prototyping, testing, and evaluation, and you will also play a role in realizing product application in close collaboration with related in-house departments, including design, manufacturing, and procurement departments.
In addition, through technical communication with car manufacturers, material manufacturers, research institutes, industry associations, and other external parties, you will be responsible for collecting seeds and needs and promoting technical collaboration. In order to protect and utilize the results of development as intellectual property, you will be actively involved in patent applications and technical proposals. In the future, you will also be expected to plan technical strategies for material development themes and train young engineers.

- Responsibilities
- Promotion of material selection/evaluation/process application for metallic materials
・Operation of testing and material analysis equipment, data compilation, and report preparation
・Development theme planning based on internal and external technology trends, and technical proposal for patent application
・Technical coordination and collaboration with material manufacturers, external research institutes, industry organizations and related internal departments (design, production engineering, quality assurance) ・Information collection and dissemination through participation in domestic and international conferences/research presentations, exhibitions and conferences
Information gathering and dissemination through presentations at academic/research meetings and participation in exhibitions/conferences in Japan and abroad

- Requirements
- Expertise in metallic materials (ferrous, nonferrous, magnetic materials, etc.)
- Knowledge of metalworking processes (heat treatment, casting, sintering, surface treatment, etc.)
- Experience in R&D, prototyping, and experimentation
- Working experience in material evaluation and analysis (tensile testing, fatigue testing, metallographic observation, etc.)

- Experience in the automotive industry or materials manufacturer
・Experience in developing carbon neutral and circular economy technologies
・Experience in patent application
・Experience in CAE (material property simulation), material modeling, and machine learning
・Experience in technical coordination with overseas suppliers and other departments
・English ability (TOEIC 500 points or above, ability to read and write technical documents) English proficiency (TOEIC score 500 or above, ability to read and write technical documents)
