Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    - Develop, design and validate the AOCS (Attitude and Orbit Control System)/GNC (Navigation, Guidance and Control) of the spacecraft.
    - Support system-level design from the standpoint of GNC. Examples include: mission CONOPS (Concept of Operations) development, FMECA (Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis), and FDIR (Failure Detection, Isolation, and FDIR (Failure Detection, Isolation, and Recovery) process, design, and system test and verification plan.
    - Development of control laws and algorithms: design, analysis, and validation by simulation of RPO (rendezvous and proximity operations) and docking scenarios.
    - Trade-off hardware or software configurations to achieve the functional performance of the GNC and determine the overall architecture.
    - Work with procurement engineers to trade-off and select GNC equipment to be procured.

  • Requirements
    ▪ 3+ years of experience as an AOCS or GNC Systems Engineer in either the design, implementation, or testing of GNC solutions for aerospace aircraft.
    ▪ Or 3+ years of experience in the design, implementation, and testing of dynamic control of moving vehicles. However, must have an undergraduate or graduate degree in aerospace
    ・ Experience developing algorithms and control laws: using GNC design and simulation software (e.g. MATLAB), implementing control laws and realistic effects (nonlinearity, signal noise, tuning), and converting algorithms to operational flight Conversion to software
    ・ TOEIC score of 700 or higher in English
    ・ Business level Japanese language skills
  • Preferred
    Minimum of 5 years of experience as an AOCS or GNC Systems Engineer involved in the design, implementation and testing of GNC solutions for actual spacecraft missions.
    Experience implementing RPO and docking algorithms and solutions is preferred.
    Experience in hardware trade-offs, hardware and software GNC architecture design.
    Experience in orbital satellite operations.
    Experience in control law design beyond classical methods: nonlinear design, optimal design.
    Knowledge of GNC sensor systems including visible cameras, IR cameras, LiDAR (trade-offs/procurement, data processing)
