- Responsibilities
- - Develop, design and validate the AOCS (Attitude and Orbit Control System)/GNC (Navigation, Guidance and Control) of the spacecraft.
- Support system-level design from the standpoint of GNC. Examples include: mission CONOPS (Concept of Operations) development, FMECA (Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis), and FDIR (Failure Detection, Isolation, and FDIR (Failure Detection, Isolation, and Recovery) process, design, and system test and verification plan.
- Development of control laws and algorithms: design, analysis, and validation by simulation of RPO (rendezvous and proximity operations) and docking scenarios.
- Trade-off hardware or software configurations to achieve the functional performance of the GNC and determine the overall architecture.
- Work with procurement engineers to trade-off and select GNC equipment to be procured.
