Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    Work description:
    ◎Existing project:
    Handles software updates and system/configuration changes related to products installed in vehicles in mass production.

    ◎New Project:
    After receiving an order from a quotation, the project is promoted to mass production over a period of 2 to 3 years.
    The number of PMs in charge will vary depending on the scale of the project.
    Products and projects to be assigned will be determined based on the candidate's experience and skills (multiple projects may be assigned at the same time).

    Main Responsibilities
    ■ Project Operation and Management
    Manage projects for OEM/OES (from single component to system level)
    Responsible for achieving KPIs including profitability, quality and production readiness
    Secure and coordinate necessary resources
    Identify and resolve issues early and liaise with relevant departments
    Design and manage progress towards each milestone Schedule design and progress management
    Conduct concept competitions (depending on the project)
    Develop and manage project scope and budget
    Change management (both client and internal)
    Design to Cost practices
    Prompt escalation when gaps are identified
    Define and lead roles within project team

    ■ Customer Relations and Reporting
    Project progress reporting to customers
    Reporting to relevant committees and verification
    Relationship building with customers (including domestic and international offices)
    Escalation handling and internal coordination

    [Liaison with development and manufacturing sites]
    Regular communication with overseas development/manufacturing teams
    (e.g., global sites in Germany, China, India, Egypt, etc.)

    [Business Travel]
    Domestic: Up to 3 times a month for meetings with OEMs (mainly day trips)
    Overseas: Travel to development centers in Germany and other countries about once a year (possible travel to other manufacturing and development sites)

  • Requirements
    -Knowledge of software
    -PM experience (even those from sales background who know about technology are OK) OR SW engineer who wants to challenge PM
    -Automotive industry background
    -English: business level
    -Japanese: business level (N2 *N3 is OK if you can communicate)
