The role focuses primarily on cost management and supplier negotiations for components already in mass production. You will work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to manage pricing negotiations, mold maintenance costs, and supplier value improvement initiatives. The role also requires coordination with global purchasing leaders and internal teams to ensure cost competitiveness and supply stability.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    ■Cost Management and Negotiation
    ・Lead annual price negotiations with suppliers for mass-produced components.
    ・Manage cost negotiations related to mold renewal, maintenance, and repair activities.
    ・Analyze supplier pricing structures and identify opportunities for cost improvement.

    ■ Supplier Collaboration
    ・Promote value analysis (VA) and cost optimization activities together with suppliers.
    ・Build strong relationships with suppliers to support long-term collaboration.
    ・Coordinate supplier improvement initiatives with internal purchasing leadership.

    ■ Cross-Functional Coordination
    ・Work closely with global purchasing segment leaders to align negotiation strategies.
    ・Collaborate with internal engineering and production teams when addressing cost changes or supplier improvements.

    ■ Business Travel
    ・Visit a nearby production facility approximately once per month.
    ・Conduct supplier visits two to three times per month to support negotiations and improvement initiatives.
  • Requirements
    ・Experience in purchasing or procurement, particularly involving price evaluation and negotiation.
    ・Valid driver's license.
    ・Business Japanese language proficiency
    ・English ability sufficient for email communication and interaction with global teams.
    ・Strong professional communication skills and business etiquette.
    ・Ability to manage negotiations and work effectively under pressure.
  • Preferred
    ・Experience working within a manufacturing company, particularly in the automotive or industrial sector.
    ・Strong negotiation and communication skills.
    ・Comfortable working with suppliers and managing cost discussions.
    ・Able to coordinate with both domestic and international stakeholders.
