The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of automotive programs for Japanese Tier 1 suppliers and OEM customers. Acting as the primary customer-facing delivery lead in Japan, this role manages the full product lifecycle from concept through SOP and post-launch support, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Working closely with global engineering and project delivery teams, the position plays a key role in driving customer satisfaction and successful program execution.

- Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of automotive development programs from concept through SOP and post-launch support
Serve as the primary delivery interface for Japanese Tier 1 suppliers and OEM customers
Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and overall program execution
Identify, assess, and proactively manage project risks, issues, and mitigation plans
Coordinate cross-functional teams including Systems, Software, Hardware, Engineering, Quality, and Operations
Lead customer and internal project meetings, driving decision-making and issue resolution
Manage change requests, change control activities, and project governance processes
Provide accurate project status reporting and executive updates to customers and senior management

- Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Science, or a related discipline
5+ years of project management experience in technical or product development environments
Experience managing automotive programs for Tier 1 suppliers and/or OEM customers
Strong understanding of software and hardware development lifecycles
Experience working in global, cross-functional organizations
Excellent customer-facing communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong project planning, risk management, and problem-solving abilities
Business-level Japanese and English (written and spoken)

- Preferred
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent Project Management certification
Experience with ADAS, driver monitoring, embedded systems, or automotive electronics
Experience with change management and project governance processes
Experience leading global development teams across multiple regions
Strong understanding of Japanese automotive development processes and customer expectations
