Lead and optimize Japan-specific logistics operations, including transportation, warehouse management, and delivery processes, ensuring cost efficiency, regulatory compliance, and alignment with regional and global objectives.
Job Description

- Responsibilities
- Develop and implement logistics strategies for Japan in alignment with regional and global goals.
Optimize transportation networks (road, sea, air) and warehouse operations for cost, speed, and resilience.
Manage relationships with logistics service providers and ensure regulatory and customs compliance.
Oversee 4PL-managed transportation, regional trucking, and just-in-time delivery processes.
Monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery, cost per unit, and inventory accuracy; drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Resolve logistics escalations and serve as primary contact for regional stakeholders.
Support RFQs by providing logistics cost estimates and standardizing freight calculations.
Use data analytics to identify trends, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
Collaborate with global teams on cross-regional projects and process harmonization.
Design logistics solutions for new deliveries and coordinate with plants to ensure smooth shipment schedules.

- Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
5-10 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation management, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry. industry.
Strong knowledge of Japan's regulatory, customs, and import/export requirements.
Experience managing relationships with 3PL/4PL service providers and regional transportation networks.
Proven ability to optimize transportation and warehouse operations for cost, speed, and resilience.
Strong analytical skills with experience using data to monitor KPIs and drive process improvements.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to coordinate across global and regional teams.
Experience supporting RFQs, freight cost calculation, and logistics planning for OEM deliveries.
Fluent Japanese and business-level English proficiency.

- Experience with just-in-time (JIT) delivery and inbound/outbound vehicle or kit logistics.
Familiarity with global logistics strategy alignment and cross-regional project coordination.
Knowledge of ERP or TMS systems for logistics tracking and reporting.
