Toyota and NTT to Invest 500 Billion Yen to Develop AI Driving Assist Technology – Toward Zero Accidents

Toyota Motor Corporation and NTT announced that they will invest 500 billion yen by 2030 to jointly develop AI-based driver assistance technology aimed at reducing traffic accidents.

The two companies will begin development of a “Mobility AI Platform” in 2025, with the aim of commercializing it around 2028. Toyota President Sato explained the importance of software-defined vehicles (SDV) and the deployment of low-power and low-latency data centers that utilize NTT’s IOWN technology.

This initiative will further develop the collaborative relationship between the two companies that has been in place since 2017.

Suzuki to Supply EVs Produced in India to Toyota from Next Spring

Honda announced plans to switch all new vehicles to EVs and FCEVs by 2040.As a first step, the “0 Series” will be rolled out, and mass production of the “Saloon” will begin in 2026, with a total of seven models to be introduced by 2030.
