China’s Xiaomi’s second EV plant expected to be completed in mid-25 years

Xiaomi is building a second plant in the suburbs of Beijing, adjacent to its existing first EV plant, which is expected to be completed in mid-2025.

Originally known as a smartphone manufacturer, the company announced its entry into the EV business in 2021 as part of its business diversification efforts, launching its first EV sedan, SU7, in December 2023 and quickly becoming one of China’s leading EV brands with cumulative sales of 70,000 units by the end of September after starting delivery in March. In a short period of time, it has become one of the major EV brands in China.

Binh Fast, Vietnam’s EV, delivers 66% more vehicles in Q3 than in the previous quarter

Binfast delivered 21,912 vehicles in the third quarter, up 66% from the previous quarter, and reached a monthly high of 9,300 vehicles in September in the country.

However, the company continued to lose money due to increased costs of overseas expansion, postponed the start of operations of its U.S. plant to 2028, and revised downward its annual vehicle delivery target to 80,000 units. To compensate for the sluggish U.S. market, the company is strengthening its expansion in Asian markets such as Indonesia.
