Electrical Safety Supervisor and Facility Manager

A German company with long-standing roots in Japan and doing business around the world, it has a diverse workforce and a working environment with a turnover rate of 1%. 2024 April, a new R&D facility will be completed and the company is working to develop even more advanced technologies.

As an Electrical Safety Supervisor, this position is responsible for overall safety operations, including safety management of electrical facilities, confirmation and approval of construction and outage procedures, disaster response site supervision, patrols, inspections, record management, safety training, and reporting and notification to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    Review and approval of documents related to electrical work (including judgment of whether or not a construction plan notification is required)
    - Review and approval of power outage work procedures and witnessing (work involving special high-voltage and high-voltage equipment and low-voltage cubicle operation) - Review and approval of safety work records
    - Review and approval of safety work records
    - Checking maintenance of safety equipment and documents - Patrols, approval of inspection plans, and confirmation of results - Review and approval of safety work records - Review and approval of safety work plans Review and approval of the power outage work procedures (special high-voltage and high-voltage facilities, work involving operation of low-voltage cubicles)
    ・On-site direction of disaster countermeasures for electric facilities
    ・Check and approval of safety work records
    ・Check maintenance status of safety equipment and documents
    ・Approve patrol and inspection plans and approve results
    ・Report accidents (including reports to METI)
    ・Report to installers (Bosch, Yokohama) (about once a month)
    ・Report to METI regarding the Electricity Business Act (revision of safety regulations, notification to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) Notification to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry regarding the Electricity Business Act (revision of safety regulations, notification of election and dismissal, notification of construction plan, notification of changes regarding smoke and soot generating facilities)
    ・Appointment of substitute staff
    ・Development and implementation of maintenance and repair plans for the entire building including electrical facilities
    ・Cooperation and management with partner companies (Tokyu Community, etc.)
    ・Other general operations regarding facility management
  • Requirements
    -Certified as a Class 2 Electricity Chief Engineer
    -Knowledge of the Electricity Business Act and other related regulations
    -Report writing skills
    -Basic PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Preferred
    -Experience in security and management of high voltage power receiving and transforming facilities
    -Experience in facility management
    -English proficiency (not required for the job, but welcome as we are a global company)
