This position is responsible for the total cost management of parts from the development stage of new models to mass production and the end of production. In cooperation with business partners and a wide range of departments such as internal design, factory, and quality assurance departments, we will assess the appropriate price of parts, approve capital investment (molds, jigs, etc.), and promote continuous cost reduction activities.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    ■Cost approval of new model parts Cost approval at the prototype stage of work
    : At the event stage of new model development, we assess the cost of parts estimates and make cost decisions.
    - Capital Investment Assessment: Calculate the capital investment cost for molds, jigs, inspection tools, etc. to manufacture parts, and determine the appropriate investment amount.
    ・Mold management: Unlike mass-produced molds, we are also involved in the cost assessment of molds for prototype vehicle production.
    ■Cost reduction activities through procurement operations
    and on-site improvements for mass-produced parts: We will visit the manufacturing sites of our suppliers to make on-site improvements (improvements in processes and technologies) and promote cost reduction (VE/VA) of parts.
    ・Return on investment at the end of production: When the production plan is changed, if the planned number of units is not reached, consider and implement how to recover the remaining investment.
    ■Price assessment
    due to changes in part design specifications and price assessment at the time of design changes: If equipment changes such as molds and jigs are required due to changes in the design of parts, the cost is assessed and the impact on the price of parts is appropriately determined.
  • Requirements
    ・Experience
    in managing and appraising molds, jigs, and inspection tools in the manufacturing industry *Experience in credit and capital investment support and assessment
    for manufacturing at financial institutions, etc. ・Experience in purchasing and procurement
    in the manufacturing industry *Experience in cost management, cost analysis (including VE/VA activities), and cost analysis of parts manufacturing, and promotion
    of cost reduction activities ・Experience in production technology in the manufacturing industry ( Experience in process improvement, launch of new models, and process design)
  • Preferred
    ・Experience
    in purchasing and procurement at an automobile manufacturer or auto parts manufacturer, extensive knowledge
    of mold and jig design and manufacturing, experience in cost evaluation
