RF Communications Systems Engineer

In the development of space transportation vehicles (rockets), you will be responsible for the design, development, and integration of communication systems and communication radios that connect the vehicle and ground stations. You will play a central role in supporting the quality and stability of the overall communications from the physical layer of the radio (antennas and RF front-end) to baseband signal processing and communications protocols.
Although some implementation of circuits and signal processing will be done in cooperation with external partners, the position is expected to be involved as a main player in system design, specification definition, and evaluation.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    Design of communication system architecture between launch vehicle and ground stations (e.g., S-band, UHF band)
    - Design of antenna configuration and layout, RF front-end specification study and evaluation
    - Design of signal processing system (baseband) and communication protocol implementation support
    - Maintenance of communication interface with ground stations and tracking facilities
    - Development lead for communication system and communication radio equipment Development lead for
    ・Planning of various tests (system coupling, radio frequency test, launch support)
    ・Implementation of tests (evaluation test of radio equipment, EMC test, etc.)
  • Requirements
    -Experience in designing RF part of radio equipment (electric circuit design, electric board design, debugging)
    -Experience in evaluation testing of radio equipment (performance acquisition of radio equipment, EMC testing, etc.) *Experience in using various measuring instruments
    -Experience in development related to wireless communication equipment and communication systems
    -Knowledge of design and evaluation of RF circuits, antennas, or signal processing systems
    -Japanese Business level (able to communicate smoothly)
  • Preferred

    Experience in developing communication systems for spacecraft, aircraft, defense equipment, etc.
    - Experience in implementing baseband signal processing using FPGA/SoC
    - Experience in electromagnetic field analysis (HFSS, CST, etc.) and measurement evaluation (VNA, spectrum analyzer, etc.)
