In this role, you will be responsible for managing and strengthening relationships within an established customer base, working closely with internal teams and customers to ensure stable supply, support market analysis, and contribute to steady commercial performance.

This position requires a hands-on, versatile approach in a small team environment, with responsibility spanning sales execution, strategy support, and customer engagement.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    Sales & Account Management
    • Manage and grow relationships with existing key clients across industrial sectors (e.g., steel, glass, cement, energy)
    • Handle sales activities for small to mid‑sized accounts and support incremental growth within existing customers
    • Maintain accurate activity tracking through CRM systems and prepare regular sales reports
    • Implement pricing strategies and support quotation and invoicing processes
    • Build long‑term customer relationships and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction

    Account & Relationship Management
    • Maintain and strengthen long‑term relationships with existing customers
    • Ensure stable supply, stock management, and accurate sales forecasting
    • Coordinate with factories, warehouses, and global teams to meet customer needs
    • Identify small upsell or cross‑sell opportunities within existing accounts where appropriate

    Sales Planning & Forecasting
    • Contribute to sales planning, budgeting, and mid‑term strategy development
    • Prepare and manage sales forecasts with a high degree of accuracy
    • Monitor performance and propose action plans to maintain or improve results

    Market Analysis & Strategy Support
    • Analyze market trends, customer demand, pricing, and competitor activity
    • Support development and execution of commercial strategies and roadmaps
    • Provide insights and reports to management to support decision‑making

    Cross‑functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with customer service and internal teams to ensure smooth operations
    • Support key account activities including contract discussions and negotiations
  • Requirements
    • 5–10 years of B2B sales experience in industrial materials, chemicals, trading, or related industries
    • Experience working with industries such as steel, glass, ceramics, or similar
    • Native-level Japanese and business-level English (reading, writing, and communication)
    • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
    • Ability to work independently in a small, dynamic team environment
    • Able to handle large amounts of sensitive data
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Preferred
    • Experience in refractory materials or similar industrial products
    • Experience in solution-based or value-added sales
    • Experience using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce)
