In this role, you will be responsible for the development and optimization of optical technologies for in-cabin camera systems used in advanced driver monitoring and occupant sensing applications.

You will lead the design, evaluation, and validation of camera modules, working across optics, electronics, and system integration to deliver high-performance and reliable automotive products.
This is a highly technical role with strong ownership across the full imaging pipeline, from optical design to system-level validation.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    Camera System Design
    ・Define specifications and support design of camera modules (lenses, image sensors, electronics)
    ・Perform optical design including performance definition (MTF, distortion, FoV, stray light control)
    ・Select and evaluate CMOS image sensors (dynamic range, SNR, quantum efficiency)

    Image Quality Evaluation & ISP Tuning
    ・Conduct image quality evaluation using tools such as Imatest
    ・Support ISP tuning optimized for in-cabin environments

    Hardware Integration & Validation
    ・Support electronic design of camera modules (signal integrity, MIPI-CSI2 considerations)
    ・Develop and execute validation plans covering optical and electronic performance
    ・Perform root cause analysis for image quality, hardware, and integration issues

    Cross-functional Collaboration & Supplier Management
    ・Collaborate with mechanical, software, and system teams to drive product development
    ・Interface with suppliers (camera modules, lenses, sensors) for technical alignment
  • Requirements
    ・3+ years of experience in digital camera module development
    ・Strong understanding of the optics-to-digital imaging pipeline (lens + CMOS sensor)
    ・Experience in Automotive (DMS/OMS preferred) or Machine vision / consumer electronics (mass production environments)
    ・Knowledge in Optical systems (MTF, FoV, distortion, simulation tools) & CMOS sensors and evaluation methods
    ・ISP pipelines and camera electronics (MIPI interfaces)
    ・Business-level Japanese and English
  • Preferred
    ・Experience in automotive in-cabin sensing (DMS / OMS)
    ・Experience with optical simulation tools and lab equipment
    ・Experience in system-level validation and integration
