As a member of the Global Trade Compliance Team, you will lead customs clearance, tariffs, and trade compliance operations within Japan. Working with global and APAC teams, we drive compliance, risk management, customs response, and audit response, strengthening trade governance across the entire business.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    Overall
    management of trade compliance and customs-related operations in Japan, collaboration with global and APAC teams and promotion
    of governance, management
    of legal compliance across the entire supply chain, liaison and audit
    responses with Japanese customs, monitoring and
    internal deployment of tariff, EPA, and trade-related laws Consulting on domestic customs clearance processes,
    review and approval
    of business models and transaction details, HS code classification review and audit response
    , promotion of introduction and establishment
    of global standards and internal rules, and compliance with export control regulations as needed
  • Requirements
    Bachelor's degree
    in international trade, business, or related fields; over 8
    years of practical experience in trade compliance; knowledge
    of EPA, customs assessment, AEO audits, customs procedures; experience
    using SAP GTS or equivalent systems; experience coordinating and negotiating
    with internal and external stakeholders; business-level Japanese and English proficiency
    . Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Preferred
    Knowledge
    of export control regulations, trade
    compliance experience at global companies, audit response experience
    , and experience in automotive or manufacturing industries.
