In Japan, in addition to sales and service of the above products made at our plants around the world, we have a plant in Kyoto, Japan, where we develop and produce hydraulic equipment for construction and agricultural machinery manufacturers and public infrastructure such as ports and dams in Japan and overseas.

As a subsidiary, we have a clear growth policy and contribute to society with professional, global corporate-level solutions. We are looking for a production engineer to join our manufacturing division, which is responsible for the start-up of production in Japan of controller units (CCS) that electrically control hydraulic equipment. As a leading company of electrically controlled hydraulic equipment, we plan to increase the supply of hydraulic equipment with control functions to Japanese OEMs. The successful candidate will take the lead in resolving production issues. In addition to CCS, our Kyoto plant also supplies orbital motors for slewing and crawler drive for mini excavators, and steering control units mainly for forklifts. As a candidate for future manufacturing manager, we would like you to lead the quality and productivity improvement of these existing products.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities
    - Manage manufacturing orders and production progress using ERP (SAP S4/HANA)
    - Regularly update plans and adjust personnel and schedules as necessary to meet production targets
    - Manage daily efficiency and plan and implement improvement measures
    - Respond to production related inquiries in coordination with the production control department (sales)
    - Establish and maintain production related manufacturing procedures and quality related forms in coordination with the overseas engineering department
    - Liaise with the logistics department to ensure finished goods are shipped as planned - Ensure that all production is delivered as planned - Ensure that all production is delivered as planned - Ensure that all production is delivered as planned Liaise with logistics department
    - Develop, maintain and improve safety standards and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for operators
    - Work with quality assurance department to ensure finished products meet quality standards and implement corrective actions as needed
    - Plans and implements efficiency improvement initiatives for non-CCS products
  • Requirements
    - Minimum 3 years' experience in production engineering/manufacturing management in manufacturing
    - Understanding of production processes (primarily assembly), quality control, and safety standards
    - 4 college degree or higher (manufacturing related factory certification preferred)
    - Japanese: business level, English: business level
    - MS Office (Excel, Word, and Power Point) use is acceptable.
    - Must be comfortable working in a team environment, have good communication and problem solving skills

    - Experience with SAP-based ERP is desirable.
